About the role
You will serve as a key finance partner for a core area of the business, building deep fluency in its drivers and acting as a trusted point of contact for its leadership and cross-functional teams. You will monitor and analyze business performance, identify trends, and translate findings into clear recommendations for senior management. You will build and maintain driver-based financial models across multiple time horizons to support critical subscription business decisions. You will drive visibility into core business trends for senior leadership, influencing decisions at the executive level through data-driven insights. You will partner cross-functionally to turn financial analysis into strategic decisions, surfacing performance and investment trade-offs for key stakeholders across the business. You will translate complex financial information into clear narratives for a range of audiences, ensuring alignment across San Francisco and London offices. What you'll do
- Serve as a central finance partner for a high-impact area, coordinating closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives and outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze business performance on a recurring basis, identifying meaningful trends and translating insights into concise, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Design, build, and maintain flexible driver-based financial models that evaluate scenarios across multiple time horizons, supporting both strategic planning and operational decision-making.
- Synthesize large volumes of data into clear dashboards and narrative reports that provide senior leadership with timely visibility into performance, risk, and opportunity.
- Act as a liaison between finance and business teams, facilitating cross-functional workshops and discussions to surface assumptions, validate inputs, and agree on key drivers.
- Partner with marketing, product, and sales leaders to assess the financial impact of proposed initiatives, balancing performance implications against investment requirements.
- Own the end-to-end modeling and analysis for subscription-related revenue streams, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accuracy in forecasts and budgets.
- Challenge prevailing assumptions where appropriate, using data and logical reasoning to propose alternative approaches that optimize trade-offs between growth and profitability.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and insights in a structured and accessible way, enabling other teams to understand, challenge, and reuse models as business needs evolve.
- Represent finance in executive-facing forums, distilling complex topics into clear stories that highlight trends, risks, and recommended actions for leaders.
- Coordinate with the London office to ensure alignment on regional performance, incorporating feedback and adjusting models to reflect local nuances and priorities.
- Support ad hoc analyses that address urgent questions from leadership, providing rapid responses that inform time-sensitive decisions without compromising rigor.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and tools, identifying opportunities to automate manual steps and enhance reliability over time.
- Collaborate closely with the FP&A leadership to ensure that the work produced supports enterprise-wide forecasting, planning, and resource allocation frameworks.
- Maintain a curious and proactive mindset, seeking out new data sources and analytical techniques to strengthen the accuracy and relevance of financial insights.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field, such as corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.
- Exceptional cross-functional partnership and coordination skills, including experience keeping distributed stakeholders aligned across time zones, with our London office being a key partner to this role.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience building and maintaining driver-based models that connect inputs to outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial information for a range of audiences, from operators to executive leaders.
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and manages competing priorities in a high-growth environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Comfort working with large, multi-dimensional data sets and an ability to extract signal from noise to inform strategic choices.
- Proven experience collaborating with stakeholders across functions, including marketing, product, and sales, to ensure finance insights are integrated into planning and execution.
- Strong command of spreadsheet tools and data visualization techniques to clearly present findings and support decision-making.
- Experience working in a subscription or recurring revenue business model is highly relevant, given the importance of understanding cohort behavior and retention dynamics.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the London office to collaborate in person and support global initiatives, as outlined in the practical notes.
- Ability to work from the San Francisco office three days per week under a flexible hybrid model, ensuring consistent collaboration with local teams.

- Background in running experiments or measuring marketing efficiency to evaluate channel performance and contribution.
- Knowledge of best practices for scenario planning, forecasting, and rolling forecasts in a growth-stage business.
Practical notes
This role is based in San Francisco and requires occasional travel to London approximately twice a year. The position follows a flexible hybrid model requiring presence in the San Francisco office three days per week. There may be occasional travel required beyond these locations on an as-needed basis.
