About the role
SpaceX is seeking a dedicated leader in campus planning to spearhead the infrastructure strategy and facilitate long-term development at the Bastrop facility. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing site development as production operations expand, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that growth initiatives remain on schedule and aligned with organizational goals.

What you'll do
- Take ownership of the comprehensive utility and facility documentation, ensuring stakeholder feedback is incorporated, requirements are validated, and records are maintained in accordance with site objectives.
- Develop and sustain a multi-year master site plan that forecasts future growth requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Lead the land use planning process to facilitate efficient campus expansion and development.
- Build and nurture relationships with local government representatives, landowners, and other external stakeholders to establish essential partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with the Government Affairs team to expedite regulatory approvals and navigate any potential challenges.
- Work in tandem with construction teams, operations personnel, and site leadership to align priorities and ensure effective execution of projects.
- Oversee utility expansion initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
- Monitor and report on project progress, making adjustments as necessary to meet evolving demands and timelines.
- Conduct regular assessments of site conditions and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather insights and foster collaboration on planning initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on site planning activities, progress, and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices throughout the planning and execution phases.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in site planning, facilities management, or managing infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required by project demands.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to assess site conditions and infrastructure needs effectively.
Nice to have
- A track record of successful long-range planning, stakeholder engagement, and navigating regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.
- Familiarity with high-growth industrial environments, utility expansions, or campus development projects.
- Understanding of Texas land use laws, permitting processes, and local government interactions.
- An advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Engineering or Planning) or PMP certification would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in GIS software, AutoCAD, or other site modeling applications.
Skills & tools
