You will manage government accounts by resolving issues, setting expectations, and building strong relationships, and you will act as an internal advocate for your accounts, translating customer requirements into technical and programmatic developments. The role is central to long-term retention and revenue growth in the government vertical.
The role blends account management with strategy. You will communicate customer feedback internally to influence product and programmatic strategy, track and report on readiness levels, schedules, and risks to meet revenue forecasts, and design and implement new processes to scale internal operations and accelerate customer growth. You will also lead high-impact commercial decisions within the government vertical.
Managing government accounts requires experience in consulting or project management and a track record of supporting customers with technical products or services. Candidates with expertise in government contracting and satellite communications, technical knowledge of Starlink, satellites, ground networks, or user terminals, and industry experience in maritime, aviation, or mobile backhaul will be well prepared. The role requires the willingness to pursue a Top Secret/SCI clearance and involves travel to customer sites. It is an ideal fit for an account professional who enjoys owning complex relationships and driving outcomes in a high-stakes government environment. Requirements
- Bachelor degree in engineering or business; OR high school diploma/equivalency with 6+ years of experience in business development, operations, engineering, or account management.
- 3+ years of consulting or project management experience.
- 3+ years of experience supporting customers with technical products or services.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
- Willingness to pursue a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to customer sites as required.
Nice to have
- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sales or account management within a large global organization.
- Expertise in government contracting and satellite communications.
- Industry experience in maritime, aviation, or mobile backhaul.
- Technical knowledge of Starlink, satellites, ground networks, or user terminals.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage renegotiations.
Skills & tools
