About the role
The Starlink Aviation team is dedicated to developing innovative connectivity solutions for aircraft, enabling internet access through our advanced satellite constellation. In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of our products across different airframes, troubleshooting technical challenges, and working closely with various internal teams to enhance product quality and reliability.

What you'll do
- Serve as the main technical liaison for airline clients and operational teams, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Develop comprehensive training materials for internal support personnel focused on troubleshooting and debugging processes.
- Manage and oversee certification processes and contractual obligations related to system maintenance and performance.
- Supervise the installation of hardware and the provisioning of network services to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Design and operate ground test setups to simulate field issues, facilitating root cause analysis and resolution.
- Conduct site surveys and perform on-site hardware investigations to identify and rectify problems.
- Monitor fleet health metrics and collaborate with software, network, and aircraft technicians to address and resolve service-related issues.
- Document findings and provide feedback to improve product functionality and customer satisfaction.
- Engage in continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies and methodologies in the aviation and satellite communications fields.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to share insights and contribute to strategic planning.
- Maintain a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate into larger problems.
- Foster strong relationships with customers to enhance their experience and ensure their needs are met effectively.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in fields such as aerospace, aviation, IT, consumer electronics, or technical support, or a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees to comply with ITAR regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for site visits and customer engagements.
Nice to have
- Certifications such as Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET), Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician (CAET), or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) are advantageous.
- Experience in analyzing fleet data to identify trends and report findings to supply chain and production teams.
- Familiarity with cable harness fabrication techniques, including crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with testing tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering equipment.
- Knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, and routing protocols.
- Skills in programming with Python, Linux, or similar scripting languages.
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles and collaboration within multidisciplinary engineering teams is a plus.

- Proficient in technical documentation and schematic interpretation.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and root cause analysis skills.
- Knowledgeable in networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, Routing, VLAN).
- Experience with hardware testing tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes).

- Familiarity with Python and Linux programming environments.
Practical notes
- Compensation for this position varies based on experience and skill level: Level 1 ($34.00 - $40.00/hour), Level 2 ($38.00 - $45.00/hour), Level 3 ($42.00 - $51.00/hour).
