About the role
This role is dedicated to managing the lifecycle of State and Local government accounts for the Starlink satellite network. You will serve as the primary point of contact for these clients, guiding them from the initial contract signature through long-term growth and technical integration. The position requires ownership of the entire customer journey, ensuring alignment between client needs and company capabilities. You will act as the internal voice of the customer to influence technical development and product roadmaps at SpaceX. Success in this role depends on your ability to monitor account readiness, project schedules, and risk factors to ensure revenue targets are met. You will be responsible for developing and implementing internal process improvements that reduce manual effort and allow the operation to scale efficiently. This position provides strategic guidance for the State and Local government sector within your assigned regions.

What you'll do
- Manage a portfolio of government clients by overseeing onboarding, retention, and revenue expansion for Starlink services.
- Act as the internal voice of the customer to influence technical development and product roadmaps for satellite network capabilities.
- Monitor account readiness, project schedules, and risk factors to ensure revenue targets are consistently achieved.
- Develop and implement internal process improvements to reduce manual intervention and scale operations across government segments.
- Provide strategic guidance for the State and Local government sector within your assigned regions to drive market adoption.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to align solutions with evolving customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Maintain detailed understanding of customer environments to support effective implementation and long-term satisfaction.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts by analyzing usage patterns and expanding service adoption.
- Support the creation of tailored proposals that address specific public sector needs and decision-making processes.
- Represent SpaceX in discussions regarding integration requirements and operational workflows with government systems.
- Track project milestones and dependencies to keep implementation timelines on track and transparent.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders within client organizations.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree, or a high school diploma/equivalency with 5+ years of experience in business development, operations, engineering, or account management.
- Possess 3+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or business operations within a professional setting.
- Bring 1+ year of experience working directly with government clients and understanding their procurement and compliance expectations.
- Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements for handling sensitive technology.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Show capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exhibit judgment and independence when making decisions that impact customer outcomes and internal processes.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity when representing SpaceX brand and commitments to public sector partners.
Nice to have
- 3+ years of experience supporting technical products or services in a solutions-oriented environment.
- 3+ years of experience specifically with State and Local government accounts and their unique operational constraints.
- Possess industry background in public sector, telecommunications, manufacturing, satellite communications, or supply chain disciplines.
- Have technical familiarity with ground networks, user terminals, or satellite technology to engage in implementation discussions.
- Demonstrate proven ability to negotiate contract terms and manage complex project timelines under pressure.
Practical notes
- You must be willing to work extended hours or weekends during critical operational milestones to support mission needs.
- Travel to customer sites and other company offices is required as part of regular job responsibilities.
