Global Supply Manager, Pipeline and Gas

About the role

SpaceX is seeking a Global Supply Manager, Pipeline and Gas to define and execute the end-to-end natural gas supply strategy for its behind-the-meter power plants. This role is responsible for architecting the fuel infrastructure that enables reliable operations while supporting high-speed AI infrastructure development. You will own the full lifecycle of gas supply, from long-term forecasting and sourcing to pipeline execution and commercial negotiation. The position demands close collaboration with engineering and energy teams to align fuel strategy with aggressive project timelines and operational constraints. Success in this role ensures operational resilience, cost efficiency, and compliance within complex regulatory and market environments. This is a hands-on leadership position that drives strategy from analysis through execution across domestic and international markets.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with engineering and energy teams to forecast power needs 12 to 36 months in advance, ensuring alignment with project timelines and operational requirements.
• Manage global sourcing for gas supply, storage, and pipeline capacity to maintain over 99.9% delivery reliability for critical infrastructure.
• Negotiate commercial contracts, including pricing, volume commitments, and dedicated pipeline buildouts that balance cost, risk, and operational needs.
• Direct pipeline projects from initial sourcing through commissioning while meeting safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Apply predictive analytics and market data to mitigate risks related to price volatility and supply disruptions, protecting operational continuity.
• Implement cost-management strategies and value engineering to optimize pipeline designs and portfolio performance without compromising reliability.
• Maintain relationships with midstream operators and suppliers through executive reviews and joint development projects to secure strategic advantages.
• Promote sustainability by managing methane reduction programs and responsible sourcing initiatives in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Evaluate and qualify new supply routes and infrastructure opportunities across domestic and international markets to expand supply flexibility.
• Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to align fuel delivery schedules with production and load requirements, minimizing downtime.
• Monitor supplier performance against service level agreements and drive corrective actions when necessary to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional workshops to clarify requirements, resolve constraints, and validate project assumptions across diverse stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of supply strategies, contracts, and project decisions for audit, governance, and knowledge transfer.
• Support the development of scenario models to compare alternative supply, pricing, and infrastructure configurations for strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree with 6+ years of experience or 10+ years of experience in business, energy, supply chain, or engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in natural gas supply, pipeline capacity management, energy procurement, or power generation.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in regulated and non-regulated environments while balancing competing priorities.
• Strong understanding of commercial negotiations, contract structures, and risk allocation principles to protect company interests.
• Experience leading initiatives that require coordination across multiple time zones and stakeholders in global markets.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of supply and project management, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.

• Technical understanding of natural gas markets, pipeline operations, and behind-the-meter fuel supply.
• Experience in fast-paced environments with rapid energy infrastructure scaling to support aggressive growth.
• Background at energy producers, midstream companies, utilities, or hyperscalers with complex energy demands.
• Familiarity with FERC and PHMSA regulatory compliance to streamline project approvals and audits.
• Proven success in high-velocity, ambiguous project environments where decisions impact critical infrastructure.
