SpaceX is seeking a Global Supply Manager to oversee the electronics supply chain for the Starship program, a critical function in enabling the company's ambitious goals for multi-planetary travel. The successful candidate will own the complete electronics procurement lifecycle, ensuring that all acquisition activities align with the program's aggressive production timelines and quality standards. You will manage complex supplier relationships and internal stakeholder expectations to secure the necessary components for Starship missions. This role requires strategic oversight of the entire supply network to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and maintain operational continuity. You will be responsible for driving procurement strategies that balance cost control with the need for rapid deployment and innovation. The position demands close collaboration with engineering, logistics, and finance teams to resolve supply chain constraints proactively. You will lead initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and integrate best practices across the electronics supply base. • Synthesize strategic sourcing models in concert with internal stakeholders to drive controllable spend reduction.
• Launch cost-reduction campaigns with defined financial targets and monitor trajectory adherence through rigorous timeline tracking.
• Quantify financial outcomes and supplier efficiency using advanced data analytics to guide decision-making.
• Institute supplier performance frameworks with KPIs and SLAs to enforce quality benchmarks and delivery reliability.
• Orchestrate complex contract lifecycles in collaboration with Legal, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business objectives.
• Curate and nurture a preferred supplier registry while spearheading developmental programs to elevate vendor capabilities.
• Administer purchase order governance and eliminate invoice obstructions to enhance transactional fluidity.
• Conduct exhaustive spend analysis to identify savings opportunities within the electronics procurement landscape.
• Engineer risk mitigation protocols to safeguard against supply disruptions in critical component streams.
• Harmonize cross-functional priorities to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with production schedules.
• Deploy forecasting tools to anticipate demand fluctuations and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
• Champion continuous improvement methodologies to refine sourcing processes and supplier relationships.
• Serve as the primary liaison for electronics-related procurement matters, providing expert guidance to internal partners.

Requirements

• Hold an advanced degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, possess a bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, or bring 10+ years of professional experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, production planning, or supply chain management.
• Demonstrate the capacity to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time for supplier engagements and program oversight.
• Exhibit availability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet program deadlines and resolve urgent supply issues.
• Comply strictly with ITAR requirements, being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
• Maintain a proven track record of managing complex supply chain operations in a regulated environment.
• Show strong analytical capabilities to interpret large datasets and derive actionable insights.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to negotiate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Display resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-stakes aerospace manufacturing setting.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with machined metallic components within aerospace, automotive, energy, or medical sectors.
• Skill in interpreting technical drawings and detailed manufacturing specifications.
• Background in technical procurement or the design of production components.
• Possession of APICS or Lean Six Sigma certification to drive operational excellence.
• History of demonstrated leadership and effective team-building initiatives.

Practical notes

Compensation includes base salary, potential long-term incentives such as stock options or cash awards, and discretionary bonuses. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance, 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation, 10+ paid holidays, and 5 days of sick leave per year. This role is strictly onsite in Hawthorne.
