About the role
SpaceX is on the lookout for a Global Supply Manager to take charge of indirect supplier relationships and spearhead efforts aimed at reducing SG&A costs. This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams, negotiating global contracts, and enhancing supplier performance across different service categories. The procurement team has set ambitious targets for 2026 that will significantly impact both product outcomes and financial performance.

What you'll do
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their needs and to define project scopes, deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams regarding design choices that align with an efficient supply strategy.
- Lead negotiations for global contracts that encompass pricing frameworks, service level agreements (SLAs), and other commercial terms.
- Assess supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, while driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency and performance.
- Formulate sourcing strategies that mitigate risks, contribute to ongoing cost reductions, and align with the company's objectives regarding payment terms, cash flow targets, on-time delivery, and overall savings.
- Collaborate with the Legal Department to draft contracts and ensure that suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations.
- Articulate value propositions to SpaceX executives concerning contract awards, cost evaluations, savings strategies, and supply chain challenges.
- Process purchase orders and handle escalations related to purchase-to-pay issues.
Requirements
- A master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience, or over 10 years of experience without a degree in fields such as purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
- Readiness to work extended hours and weekends when project deadlines necessitate.
- Availability for communication outside of standard working hours.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must comply with ITAR regulations: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or eligible to obtain necessary U.S. Department of State authorizations.

- Experience in indirect procurement, especially in categories such as professional services, facilities services, and food services.
- Proficiency in drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), validating milestone completion, tracking savings, and auditing invoices.
- Familiarity with labor market trends, rate benchmarking, and total cost of ownership models.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a keen sense of interpersonal awareness across various levels of the organization.
