About the role
SpaceX is on the lookout for a dedicated program manager to lead the comprehensive management of global employee mobility initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and executing scalable policies that address relocation, immigration, and tax compliance, all while supporting the company's international expansion and workforce requirements.

What you'll do
- Oversee the management of domestic, international, and intra-country employee transfers, working closely with external service providers to ensure smooth transitions.
- Design and implement global mobility and immigration policies that are in line with the company's growth strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments, including HR, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, Compensation, Legal, and leadership teams to ensure cohesive operations.
- Act as the go-to expert for all inquiries and escalations related to relocation, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Offer strategic insights on tax implications, visa requirements, and immigration issues related to international assignments.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and the effectiveness of policies.
- Maintain accurate tracking and reporting of relocation activities, providing updates to stakeholders and executive leadership to inform decision-making.
- Develop training materials and sessions for internal teams to ensure understanding and compliance with relocation policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and refine vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery in the relocation process.
- Create and manage budgets related to global mobility initiatives, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Foster a positive employee experience throughout the relocation process, addressing concerns and feedback promptly.
- Conduct regular assessments of the relocation program to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is essential.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in managing relocation or immigration programs within a global organization is required.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees to comply with ITAR regulations.
- This position necessitates the ability to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as necessary to meet business demands is expected.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders are crucial.
Nice to have
- In-depth knowledge of international immigration laws and the visa sponsorship process is advantageous.
- Proven project management skills with the capacity to juggle multiple complex processes simultaneously would be beneficial.
- Experience in data analysis to identify trends and present insights to leadership is a plus.
- A track record of handling confidential information with the utmost discretion is preferred.
- Familiarity with relocation management software or tools can enhance efficiency in this role.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in MS Office is required, with advanced skills in Excel to manage data and reporting effectively.
- Familiarity with project management software can be beneficial for tracking progress and managing tasks.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions are essential.
Practical notes
- This position is strictly on-site; candidates not residing in the Hawthorne area will need to relocate.
- The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, potential long-term incentives such as stock options or cash, and discretionary bonuses.
