About the role
Join the team building the Starlink satellite constellation to provide global broadband internet. You will operate advanced machinery to manufacture components for our satellite hardware and consumer antenna systems. In this position, you are responsible for ensuring that every component meets the rigorous standards required for space applications. You will work directly with some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the industry to solve complex production challenges. Your attention to detail will directly impact the reliability and performance of hardware that operates in extreme environments. You will be an integral part of a high-performing team focused on rapid iteration and continuous improvement. This role requires ownership of your work from setup through final inspection. Your contributions will help enable the next generation of global connectivity.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Set up and run multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including 5-axis mills and 6-axis lathes, preparing the machines for each new job.
- Perform milling, turning, drilling, and tapping operations on components, carefully following blueprints or verbal instructions to ensure accuracy.
- Machine complex parts to tight tolerances using various materials, adjusting tools and fixtures as needed to maintain quality.
- Manage material preparation, ensuring that raw stock is correctly cut and positioned before starting the machining process.
- Perform deburring operations to remove sharp edges and imperfections from machined parts, inspecting results for smoothness.
- Execute chip removal strategies to keep the work area clean and to prevent damage to finished surfaces during production.
- Conduct regular machine maintenance checks and minor adjustments to uphold optimal performance and prevent unexpected downtime.
- Organize the shop floor, maintaining a structured environment where tools and materials are easily accessible and safely stored.
- Verify completed parts using precision measuring tools, comparing results to specifications and making corrections if necessary.
- Document production activities and quality checks, providing clear records for traceability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and refine processes for greater efficiency.
- Adapt quickly to changes in production schedules, prioritizing tasks to meet demanding deadlines without compromising safety.
- Support the implementation of new tooling and techniques to improve cycle times and part consistency.
- Uphold strict safety protocols at all times, protecting yourself and your team from potential hazards in the machining environment.
Requirements
- Hold a High school diploma or equivalent as the minimum educational qualification for this position.
- Bring 3+ years of experience in CNC machine setup and operation, demonstrating a proven track record in the field.
- Show proficiency with G-code, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify programs for different jobs.
- Exhibit the ability to lift at least 40lbs unassisted when moving heavy materials or equipment components.
- Maintain the ability to stand for 8+ hours and maneuver in tight spaces, including frequent bending, stooping, and crawling in confined areas.
- Be available for 10-hour shifts, working consistent hours as part of the production schedule.
- Comply with ITAR regulations, confirming that you are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to access controlled information.
Nice to have
- Demonstrate experience with GD&T and interpreting manufacturing drawings to ensure parts are produced exactly as designed.
- Bring a background in prototype, short-run, or non-production machining, showing flexibility in handling diverse projects.
- Gain experience with horizontal mills, expanding your versatility in handling different types of machining operations.
- Show proficiency operating lathes with live tooling, increasing efficiency by performing multiple operations in a single setup.

Compensation: Level 1 ($23.00 - $29.00), Level 2 ($28.00 - $34.50), Level 3 ($33.00 - $40.00).
