Position Overview

SOLFL is a pioneering institution in conscious education, dedicated to the cultivation of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. Our flagship school, SOLFL עץ חיים, is a K-12 Miami Torah Earth School that delivers a rigorous, multi-disciplinary curriculum. This curriculum merges hands-on, experiential learning with the disciplines of entrepreneurship, ecology, and creative expression, all grounded in spiritual practice. The institution's core mission is to transition students from traditional, screen-centric classrooms into tangible, real-world environments. This approach fosters the development of future impact-driven entrepreneurs. The Director of Jobs Program & Mentorship is the pivotal role responsible for the conception, operation, and integration of our on-campus business ecosystem.

This position serves as the architect of our real-world business laboratories, which include a functioning coffee shop, a retail store, and a portfolio of student-run ventures. The primary focus is on practical business execution. Students engage directly with all facets of commerce, including inventory management, bookkeeping, product development, branding and marketing, customer experience, operations, and decision-making driven by social and ecological impact. Entrepreneurship is framed not merely as theory, but as a practical discipline rooted in responsibility, systems thinking, and service to the community. The Director will work in close collaboration with faculty and the onsite farm educator to develop farm-based products, thereby guiding items from soil to shelf and reinforcing the complete lifecycle of production, value creation, and ethical commerce.

A significant component of this role is the oversight and execution of the school-wide Jobs Program. This program ensures that students of all ages participate in the daily operations of SOLFL. Responsibilities within this program include setting up and serving lunch, distributing mail, and crafting and curating the SOLFL community newsletter. For our High School cohort, the Director will lead the launch of entrepreneurial initiatives that extend into the public sphere, specifically the coffee shop, retail store, and gallery.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership of Real-World Enterprises

The Director will provide direct leadership for the daily operations of SOLFL's coffee shop and retail store, ensuring they function as genuine businesses. This involves establishing and maintaining robust systems for inventory control, purchasing protocols, pricing strategies, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. The role demands a commitment to operational excellence across both front-of-house customer interactions and back-of-house logistical functions.

Entrepreneurship Through Practice

A central duty is the design of specific student roles within each enterprise. These roles are crafted to give learners direct exposure to essential business domains: inventory and supply chains, fundamental bookkeeping and financial literacy, product development and iterative improvement, branding and narrative development, and customer experience and operational management. Entrepreneurship is taught through active participation, personal accountability, and the achievement of concrete, measurable outcomes.

Product and Venture Development

The Director will collaborate closely with the onsite farm educator to co-create marketable products derived from agricultural sources. This partnership will guide students through the complete product lifecycle, from initial ideation and concept development through to production and final placement on retail shelves. All ventures must reflect a commitment to ethical sourcing, environmental sustainability, and a tangible positive impact on the community.

Impact, Responsibility, and Stewardship

This role requires the integration of social and ecological considerations into all business decisions, including pricing models and operational choices. The Director will oversee the giveback program, ensuring that the impact generated by student-run ventures is channeled back into community-focused projects. Through this work, the Director will model entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for contribution, environmental stewardship, and long-term strategic thinking.

Program Leadership and Alignment

The Director is responsible for a systems-driven approach to documenting, teaching, and tracking all learning activities related to the enterprises. This involves a data-driven methodology for optimizing individualized learning experiences. The role requires the creation of sustainable systems, workflows, and comprehensive documentation that allow the ventures to scale responsibly. Close coordination with school leadership is essential to ensure that all enterprise activities remain aligned with the broader educational goals of SOLFL. The Director will also support student-led ventures and capstone projects that are grounded in real economic activity.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing business operations in real-world settings. This person must possess the capability to manage stock levels, maintain accurate financial records, and develop pricing structures while simultaneously teaching these skills to students. The role demands the ability to design immersive learning experiences that allow students to practice and master customer service and product creation. A key competency is the evaluation of operational and educational data to continuously refine programs and sustain ethical, responsible models of enterprise.

Compensation and Location

This is a salaried, full-time position located in Miami, Florida. The compensation package is in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
