This position manages guest arrival and seating at a bustling Italian restaurant located inside a global members' club. The role is responsible for shaping the first impression guests receive upon entry and supporting the entire dining journey from start to finish. You will own the flow of the floor, ensuring that the environment feels welcoming, organized, and consistently polished. What you'll do
Create and manage reservations through OpenTable and MICROS to match demand and seating capacity.
Seat guests with care and attention to uphold a positive dining atmosphere and reinforce the club's premium identity.
Manage incoming calls and handle high-volume guest enquiries with professionalism and clear communication.
Organize seating and table flow to maintain an efficient environment from arrival to departure.
Support dining operations by coordinating with back-of-house teams to ensure service runs without interruption.
Uphold service standards by demonstrating a reliable, well-presented, positive, and enthusiastic demeanor at all times.
Use OpenTable and MICROS in your day-to-day hosting responsibilities to track bookings and seating activity.
Apply basic InDesign knowledge when supporting materials or bookings as needed to assist with internal communications.
Adapt availability to cover both opening and closing shifts based on operational needs and business demand.
Communicate fluently in English and Dutch to serve diverse members and guests and to build strong rapport.
Contribute to a culture of consistency and teamwork that keeps the venue running smoothly during busy periods.
Assist with small projects that improve guest experience, communication, or floor efficiency where appropriate.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree as part of your qualifications for the role in any field of study.
Bring 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar host or reception position in a busy venue.
Handle high-volume phone lines and guest enquiries while maintaining professional standards and calmness.
Maintain a reliable, well-presented, positive, and enthusiastic demeanor regardless of workload or shift timing.
Use OpenTable and MICROS comfortably as part of your previous work or training experience.
Apply basic InDesign knowledge when supporting materials, communications, or bookings as needed.
Adapt availability to cover both opening and closing shifts based on operational needs and team requirements.
Communicate fluently in English and Dutch to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and members.
Be willing to learn new systems, procedures, and service standards quickly during on-the-job training.
Demonstrate reliability and punctuality to ensure smooth shift coverage and team coordination.
