What you'll do
- Develop and implement innovative video concepts tailored specifically for YouTube, ensuring they reflect Purdue Global's mission, values, and target audience.
- Write compelling scripts, interview guides, and promotional text to support video projects.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of video production, including scheduling, location scouting, and resource allocation.
- Manage the entire production process from pre-production to post-production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality videos.
- Direct on-camera talent, including students, faculty, and staff, to deliver authentic and engaging performances that resonate with viewers.
- Work closely with editors to refine the narrative, pacing, and visual elements of each video, maintaining high creative standards.
- Collaborate with marketing, strategy, and content teams to ensure videos meet channel objectives and align with broader communication efforts.
- Oversee logistical details such as coordinating shoots, managing crew, and securing locations, including occasional on-site shoots in Indiana.
- Use audience analytics and performance data from YouTube to assess video effectiveness and inform future content strategies.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve video formats and storytelling techniques based on viewer feedback and industry best practices.
- Maintain organized workflows and documentation to ensure efficient production processes and clear communication among team members.
- Provide constructive feedback during production and post-production phases to enhance overall video quality.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in digital video production, storytelling, and YouTube platform features to keep content fresh and engaging.
- Incorporate AI tools and technologies to streamline workflows, enhance creative outputs, and improve overall production efficiency.
- Ensure all videos adhere to brand guidelines, copyright laws, and any applicable legal or compliance standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience producing and directing digital-first or YouTube-specific content, demonstrating a strong portfolio of past work.
- Proven ability to develop creative concepts and execute them effectively across multiple projects.
- Excellent scriptwriting skills for creating engaging narratives, interview questions, and promotional content.
- Experience managing all phases of video production, from initial concept through editing and final delivery.
- Strong directing skills, with the ability to work with talent and guide on-camera performances naturally and confidently.
- Proficiency in managing production schedules, coordinating teams, and handling logistical details efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including marketing, strategy, and creative departments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
