What you'll do
Develop full-stack features on a Ruby on Rails application that powers the core AI-powered education platform.
Conduct AI-assisted code reviews before any code is merged into the main deployment pipeline to enforce quality and consistency standards.
Engage directly with customers to gather requirements and clarify product needs through structured conversations.
Prioritize and define features independently, relying on product sense and data analysis rather than dedicated product managers.
Prototype new features rapidly using strong product and UX judgement to validate hypotheses and concepts quickly.
Build user interfaces to a near pixel-perfect standard using HTML, CSS, Hotwire, and light JavaScript within the Rails monolith architecture.
Implement solutions that strictly follow established design systems and component libraries to achieve near pixel-perfect fidelity.
Shift work across multiple projects based on evolving business priorities, maintaining flexibility and context across the entire codebase.
Optimize database queries and data models in PostgreSQL to ensure performance and scalability under growing loads.
Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with the flexibility to incorporate alternative platforms like GitLab CI or CircleCI.
Manage assets and object storage workflows using AWS S3 and CloudFront, or equivalent systems on other cloud providers.
Deploy and monitor applications on AWS infrastructure, including work with EC2 and Elastic Beanstalk during migration phases.
Contribute to long-term architectural decisions that support scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in community channels, forums, and documentation to elevate the overall team capability.
Requirements
