Agora - Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the role

You will take end-to-end ownership of features and products across the entire stack, from Agora interfaces to reliable backend infrastructure. You will work closely with product, design, operations, finance, and our external partners and customers to gather requirements, prototype quickly, and ship with confidence. You bring strong product taste and a bias toward MVP thinking, balancing user experience with backend systems, API designs, and database schemas. You will own the full lifecycle of features, from initial prototype through launch, iteration, and long-term maintenance. You will collaborate in real-time with a mission-driven team that values clear thinking, extreme ownership, and high-velocity decision making. You are passionate about stablecoins and want to help create more open, intuitive ways for people to engage with money.

What you'll do

• Take end-to-end ownership of features and products across the stack, from Agora interfaces to reliable backend infrastructure.
• Work closely with product, design, operations, finance, and our external partners and customers to gather requirements, prototype quickly, and ship with confidence.
• Bring strong product taste and an eye for good design, leveraging Figma files while pushing back when something does not feel right.
• Scope milestones with an MVP mindset, ship them, learn from the outcomes, and iterate fast to improve the product.
• Reason about user experience with the same rigor applied to backend systems, API designs, and database schemas.
• Build and maintain production systems with high uptime and minimal maintenance burden on the frontend and backend.
• Collaborate in real-time with a tight-knit, mission-driven team that operates in short feedback loops and supports one another without ego.
• Leverage deep understanding of API design, versioning, documentation, and modern authentication patterns to create robust interfaces.
• Communicate clearly and work across product, design, and operations in remote, asynchronous environments while aligning with business goals.
• Contribute to a platform that makes issuing, managing, and integrating stablecoins seamless for developers, fintechs, and institutions.
• Use your fluency with relational databases and SQL to design data models that support reliable and composable digital dollars.
• Apply your expertise in TypeScript, React, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana to deliver observable and resilient services.
• Engage directly with external partners and customers to refine integration requirements and ensure successful adoption of Agora solutions.
• Drive the delivery of programmable, composable, and ubiquitous stablecoins by building intuitive on-ramps that make dollar-based value available onchain.
• Operate with the discipline of high-performance finance teams while maintaining the creativity and speed of a crypto-native startup.

Requirements

• 5+ years of fullstack development experience, with 3+ years in TypeScript/Node.js and a modern frontend framework (React preferred).
• Fluency with relational databases and SQL to model, query, and optimize data for stablecoin operations.
• Proven ability to ship production systems, frontend and backend, with high uptime and minimal maintenance burden.
• Strong product instincts and an eye for good design, capable of working from Figma files and challenging ideas that do not align with user or system goals.
• Comfortable working directly with external partners and customers on requirements gathering, integration, and iterative feature development.
• MVP mindset: you know how to scope a milestone, ship it, learn from it, and iterate fast to improve product-market fit.
• Strong commitment to clean code principles and automated testing to maintain reliability and velocity over time.
• Deep understanding of API design, versioning, documentation, and modern authentication patterns to secure integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across product, design, and operations in remote, asynchronous environments.
• Located close to Eastern Time, with working hours that have a majority overlap with ET business hours, while welcoming exceptional engineers across Pacific Time through ET+2.

Nice to have

• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments where you have worn many hats and adapted quickly to changing priorities.
• Track record of prototyping and launching customer-facing products, not just internal tools, to drive real adoption.
• Familiarity with performance profiling, latency reduction, and service-level adherence to meet strict operational targets.
• Background in designing and operating event-driven architectures that support real-time financial workflows.
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana to maintain resilient and observable infrastructure.
• Passion for building tools, internal or external, that meaningfully improve how people work with money and manage stablecoin operations.
• Hands-on experience building in crypto, including working with onchain libraries and services, and integrating with blockchain infrastructure.
• Experience integrating or interacting with blockchain node software such as Geth or Solana validators to support stablecoin operations.
