About the role
You will serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers during the entire sales cycle, owning the end-to-end technical pre-sales process from initial discovery to final contract review. You will translate complex customer requirements into clear product narratives, demonstrating Sierra's platform and designing tailored architecture reviews that showcase business value. You will act as the trusted technical expert, working hand in hand with Sales, Product, and Agent Engineering teams to refine go-to-market strategy and drive product improvements based on direct customer feedback. You will lead conversations with executives and technical leaders, anticipating needs and ensuring Sierra's AI solution remains the center of their innovation roadmap. You will leverage AI tools as a core component of your sales motion, using them for discovery preparation, solution design, and demo creation while maintaining full ownership of accuracy and integrity. You will communicate in both Spanish and English with professional fluency, ensuring clarity for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end technical pre-sales for strategic enterprise accounts, scoping use cases and articulating business value while designing compelling demos and architecture reviews.
- Serve as the trusted technical expert throughout the sales cycle, owning discovery sessions, requirement gathering, and solution validation for complex customer problems.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to develop and execute account plans, aligning Sierra's platform capabilities with enterprise buying committees and executive sponsors.
- Design and deliver high-impact technical demonstrations that connect prospect business problems to Sierra's AI platform, highlighting outcomes, ROI, and implementation considerations.
- Collaborate with Product and Agent Engineering teams to provide customer-driven feedback, translating real-world usage into product requirements and roadmap priorities.
- Build and maintain deep relationships with technical leaders and executives, communicating effectively in both Spanish and English to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Leverage AI tools as a standard part of your sales motion for discovery preparation, solution design, demo building, and prototype creation, while ensuring personal ownership of accuracy and quality.
- Own the creation of technical proposals, proof-of-concept plans, and evaluation materials that de-risk adoption and accelerate enterprise decision-making.
- Represent Sierra at industry events, technical reviews, and customer workshops, reinforcing the company's commitment to craftsmanship, intensity, and reliability.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, documenting assumptions and dependencies to protect customer trust and ensure successful deployments.
- Support the creation of reference architectures and integration playbooks that enable scalable adoption across the enterprise.
- Educate internal teams on customer contexts and competitive dynamics, helping shape messaging, positioning, and product differentiation.
- Track and analyze sales funnel metrics related to technical engagement, providing insights that improve conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor junior team members on technical best practices, demo techniques, and customer communication standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI trends, enterprise security standards, and competitive landscapes to ensure relevance and credibility in every discussion.
Requirements
- Demonstrate professional fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bring 5-7+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or customer-facing technical sales roles.
- Show a proven track record in demo building, presenting, and working directly with customers within the GTM function.
- Exhibit strong relationship-building skills with potential customers, including executives and technical leaders.
- Have experience leading the sales process with Enterprise customers, managing complex stakeholder ecosystems.
- Possess the ability to connect a prospect's specific business problems to Sierra's solutions and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leverage AI tools efficiently as a regular part of your technical sales motion, understanding where they help and where human judgment is essential, while owning the accuracy of all outputs presented to customers.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher; preference for degrees in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
- Have a history of working in fast-paced, mission-critical environments where ownership, reliability, and attention to detail are required.
- Comply with company policies on data security, confidentiality, and ethical sales practices at all times.
Nice to have
- Experience translating code, technical logic, and user requirements into product and engineering requirements.
Practical notes
This role is full-time and based in San Francisco, California. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time. The position involves significant travel to meet enterprise customers, attend industry events, and participate in customer workshops. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
