What you'll do

- Investigate and resolve intricate technical issues related to payment flows, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Partner with data teams to define and implement data models that provide actionable insights into financial performance and user behavior.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and coding through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge of backend systems and demonstrating effective problem-solving techniques.
- Conduct code reviews to uphold quality standards and foster a culture of collective code ownership within the engineering team.

Requirements
- Possess 3-7 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related technical field.
- Have verifiable previous work experience as an accountant or financial analyst before transitioning into software development.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of financial operations, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and month-end close processes.
- Show proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Python, or Java, with a strong grasp of data structures and algorithms.
- Have hands-on experience with backend API development, RESTful services, and the design of relational database schemas.
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
- Demonstrate prior experience using Claude or similar large language models to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and conduct technical research.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to writing tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, to ensure software reliability.
- Be comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining clear communication with distributed team members.

Practical notes
