What you'll do

• Design and deploy robust software solutions that adhere to strict coding standards and best practices, ensuring the integrity of financial data.

Requirements

• Possess 3-7 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related technical field.
• Have verifiable previous work experience as an accountant or financial analyst before transitioning into software development.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of financial operations, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and month-end close processes.
• Show proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Python, or Java, with a strong grasp of data structures and algorithms.
• Have hands-on experience with backend API development, RESTful services, and the design of relational database schemas.
• Hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
• Demonstrate prior experience using Claude or similar large language models to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and conduct technical research.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to writing tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, to ensure software reliability.
• Be comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining clear communication with distributed team members.

Practical notes

The interview process for this role is rigorous and designed to assess both technical aptitude and cultural fit. It consists of a 30-40 minute Wonderlic cognitive ability test to evaluate problem-solving skills. This is followed by a 1.5-hour coding assessment where candidates will be required to write and debug real-world scenarios. A 30-minute recruiter interview will cover career history and role expectations in detail. Candidates will then participate in a 1-hour engineering interview focused on system design and technical proficiency.
