Financial processes are enhanced and maintained through collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Accounting and Finance.

Software tools, processes, and metrics are evaluated and deployed to support financial operations.

Support and consulting on software systems usage within business workflows are provided to stakeholders.

Compliance with project plans and industry standards in financial technology is ensured in all solutions.

Software applications and features are designed using Golang to serve backend services.

Reports and automations for financial data are built using Python and SQL.

A distributed architecture is built and maintained, enabling solutions to scale while preserving consistency.

Internal company stakeholders are coordinated with to design market-winning financial products.

Metrics are developed and collected to drive continuous improvement of financial products.

High-quality, testable features are delivered to meet reporting and compliance standards in fintech.

Engineering teammates are mentored to elevate their experience and knowledge in financial software systems.

Requirements

At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience is required for this role.

Experience in bringing new ideas and building consensus on the path forward in financial technology is demonstrated.

REST APIs are built and served using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language, with proven experience.

Claude or equivalent large language model tools are used to enhance productivity, research, and communication, and candidates must be comfortable with these.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Accountants and financial analysts transitioning to software are encouraged to apply for this role.

Nice to have

Professional experience as an accountant or financial analyst is preferred.

A solid understanding of financial operations such as reconciliation, reporting, and compliance is expected.

Experience in banking or financial institutions is considered a plus.

Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, and experience with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL is valued.

Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes is required.

Comfort using observability platforms like Prometheus, or vendor solutions like NewRelic or Datadog for production monitoring and alerting is expected.

Familiarity with containerized micro-service architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS is preferred.

A track record of delivering commercial APIs and web applications in production environments is valued.

Practical notes

This role is based in Chile with remote flexibility. The compensation range is $5,000 to $9,500 per month (Gross in USD) for senior-level work with 8+ years of experience.
