About the role
Sezzle is seeking an IT Operations Analyst to join our growing team in Bogota. This role focuses on managing local hardware, supporting internal users, and maintaining our technical infrastructure with a high level of accountability. You will serve as the primary point of contact for our Colombian operations, ensuring our systems remain secure and efficient. In this capacity, you will act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable plans. The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire lifecycle for local devices, from initial acquisition to secure disposal. You will be responsible for upholding the integrity of our systems through consistent application of security policies and operational best practices. This position requires a proactive mindset to identify potential issues before they impact the broader organization. You will contribute directly to the stability and reliability of our technology stack in Colombia.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage local hardware procurement, deployment, and physical security for macOS and Windows devices.
- Resolve internal support requests through Jira from start to finish.
- Execute tasks from the existing Jira backlog to improve proactive IT operations.
- Communicate technical changes and security standards to engineering teams and the wider company.
- Provision hardware and software for staff, including participation in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
- Lead IT onboarding training for new hires and manage offboarding procedures.
- Assist with IT audits regarding access control history and quarterly software vendor reviews.
- Monitor system health and performance to ensure operational stability across the infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all processes and configurations.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and test patches and updates to minimize disruptions to business operations.
- Support the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Analyze support trends to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 2 to 6 years of professional experience.
- Must be based in Bogota, Colombia, with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficiency in using Claude or similar large language models for productivity and research.
- Experience with cloud-based productivity suite administration, macOS/Windows enterprise device management, and IT service management platforms.
- Ability to work on-call and occasionally after hours.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles and data protection practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adhere to strict company policies and procedures.

Nice to have
- Experience with agile methodologies, including Jira ticketing workflows and pointing.
- Background in implementing and documenting PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Type 2, and CIS controls.
- Strong self-starter skills with a focus on identifying, assessing, and resolving operational issues autonomously.

Practical notes
This is a contractor position. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and market alignment, with potential for higher pay for exceptional candidates. The role requires a high degree of organizational skill and the ability to maintain rigorous documentation for audit compliance. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring presence in the Bogota office for specific days and coordination with team availability. On-call duties may be required to address critical system outages or security incidents outside of standard business hours. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in Colombia and comply with all local employment regulations. Travel is generally not required for this role, but occasional in-person meetings with the global team may be requested. This role is exempt from immediate visa sponsorship considerations for eligible candidates.
