What you'll do
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of the business and adheres to industry best practices.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access and breaches.
- Lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security vulnerabilities and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity and infrastructure management, integrating relevant advancements into the organization's strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services related to IT infrastructure and security.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience in the face of unforeseen events.
- Prepare and present reports on infrastructure and security status to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Foster a security-first mindset across the organization by providing training and awareness programs for all employees.
- Coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring that any security breaches are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance the efficiency and security of the organization's IT operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing security strategies that align with business objectives.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience in the manufacturing or marine industry, particularly with technologies related to marine systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, enhancing collaboration between development and operations teams.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is advantageous.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in security information and event management (SIEM) tools, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with endpoint protection solutions and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
- Knowledge of database security practices and data loss prevention (DLP) technologies.

- This role is based in Leesport, Pennsylvania, and may require occasional travel to other company locations or vendor sites.
