Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide training and support to employees on health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
- Monitor and report on HSQ performance metrics, analyzing trends and making recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSQ practices into daily operations and decision-making processes.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring that the organization remains compliant and competitive.
- Facilitate communication between management and employees regarding HSQ matters, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for external audits and inspections, ensuring that all necessary records are maintained.
- Lead initiatives aimed at promoting a safety-first culture, including safety campaigns and employee engagement activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HSQ-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
- Participate in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a health, safety, and quality role, preferably within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health, safety, and quality regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HSQ management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Nice to have
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
- Experience in the implementation of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
- Familiarity with environmental management systems and sustainability practices.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within HSQ.
- Knowledge of emergency response and crisis management protocols.
