What you'll do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, data, and design, to develop and implement the feature roadmap and live operations schedule.
- Oversee the game economy by carefully balancing progression, resource sinks, and sources to cater to diverse player segments.
- Design long-term progression strategies that seamlessly integrate new content and systems, ensuring a cohesive player experience.
- Analyze live game data to identify and execute optimization opportunities, driving continuous improvement.
- Monitor key gameplay metrics and take ownership of their impact on performance, making data-driven decisions to enhance player engagement.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform design decisions, staying ahead of industry trends.
- Coordinate with live operations and feature designers to ensure all updates align with the core economy, promoting a unified player experience.
- Foster a collaborative team culture focused on delivering high-quality outcomes and exceptional player experiences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in free-to-play systems and economy design, with a proven track record of managing economies for successful mobile games after their initial launch.
- Expertise in using data analysis to drive design decisions and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Deep knowledge of midcore game economies and live operations, with a strong understanding of the complexities involved.
- Professional fluency in both English and Japanese, enabling effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working on high-profile titles with large daily active user bases, demonstrating your ability to handle high-pressure environments.
- Ability to mentor team members and lead by example, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Must be based in Japan, with a strong preference for candidates with a deep understanding of the local gaming market.
- Required to work in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with a hybrid schedule that balances remote work and in-office attendance.

- Strong knowledge or fandom of the Monster Hunter series, with a deep understanding of its mechanics and player expectations.
- Personal experience playing Monster Hunter Now, Pikmin Bloom, or Pokémon Go, providing valuable insights into player behavior and preferences.
- Interest or background in augmented reality gaming, with a willingness to explore new technologies and innovations.
- Professional experience in engineering, UX design, production, or data roles, demonstrating your adaptability and ability to learn new skills.

Practical notes
