About the role
You will serve as a founding member of a team dedicated to shaping how AI is applied within the public sector. Your work will directly support critical missions for organizations such as the U.S. Army and Air Force by developing reliable AI systems for high-stakes government decisions. You will own the entire lifecycle of full-stack feature delivery, from initial client collaboration through deployment and monitoring. This role requires you to translate ambiguous public sector feedback into concrete technical solutions that drive meaningful citizen impact. You will collaborate daily with senior engineers and public sector counterparts to ensure alignment with mission-driven objectives. The position provides the opportunity to build the foundational architecture of a new team focused on global public sector challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring that deployed applications meet rigorous standards for security, stability, and performance in real-world environments.

What you'll do
You will collaborate with senior engineers and public sector clients to deeply understand user feedback and translate it into robust technical implementations. You will develop and maintain full-stack components that integrate seamlessly with advanced AI models, utilizing React, TypeScript, Python, and Node.js. You will assist in deploying applications into cloud environments while ensuring system stability, security, and performance through detailed observability and logging practices. You will build and refine reusable features designed to accommodate diverse international client use cases and varying regional data schemas. You will contribute to technical design discussions alongside multi-disciplinary teams of design, product, and data specialists to improve system reliability and scalability. You will translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical specifications and implementation plans while maintaining high standards of code quality and documentation. You will implement unit tests, integration tests, and monitoring solutions to validate application behavior and support rapid, stable iteration in production. You will ensure that all development aligns with strict compliance requirements necessary for government and public sector deployments. You will take ownership of debugging complex issues that span frontend, backend, and AI components within distributed systems. You will actively participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards and foster a culture of quality across the team.
Requirements
You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field. You must possess professional full-stack experience with a strong focus on React, TypeScript, and Python/Node.js. You must demonstrate a proven track record of building and deploying web applications in production environments. You must have a solid understanding of cloud fundamentals, scalable coding practices, and modern software architecture patterns. You must be a self-starting individual capable of navigating ambiguous requirements and delivering reliable software on demanding schedules. You must exhibit strong problem-solving skills to debug intricate issues across frontend, backend, and AI layers of distributed systems. You must show a committed code discipline, ensuring that all code is clean, maintainable, and thoroughly reviewed. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple priorities. You must be comfortable interacting with cross-functional stakeholders, including operations teams, to ensure seamless integration of solutions. Familiarity with building solutions involving Large Language Models (LLMs) is required for this role. You must be able to adapt to evolving technical challenges while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.
Nice to have
Experience working cross-functionally with operations teams is a priority for this position. Experience building solutions that incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) is also strongly preferred.
