About the role
You will own the end-to-end management of a critical national security customer account plan that directly influences the trajectory of computer vision workflows from initial concept to deployed operations. This role requires you to triage complex customer technical issues in real time and translate ambiguous operator pain points into clear requirements for engineering. You will leverage data and analytics to align internal resources around Scale's hardest problems and ensure timely resolution of cross-functional blockers. You will drive the creation of bespoke tools and deliverables that add measurable value to Scale's Public Sector customers and reinforce trust in our solutions. You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and public sector teams to design, refine, and operationalize AI/ML systems that meet strict government standards. You will act as the central coordination point between executive stakeholders and end users to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and success metrics. You will be expected to lead with a "whatever-it-takes" mentality to keep programs on track and customers fully supported.

What you'll do
- Manage the full customer relationship, interfacing effectively with executive sponsors and end users across the program lifecycle.
- Work side-by-side with customers to scope computer vision use cases and translate them into technical specifications for engineering.
- Lead or support a cross-functional project team to deliver on and exceed the customer's AI and machine learning objectives.
- Assume a "whatever-it-takes" ownership mindset, proactively surfacing customer needs and operator pain points to ensure successful outcomes.
- Learn technical concepts and tools to a sufficient depth so you can evaluate feasibility, challenge assumptions, and refine proposed solutions.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and public sector teams to build and deliver AI systems tailored to unique government use cases in the computer vision domain.
- Utilize data and analytics to identify risks, track progress, and align internal resources around the most challenging program problems.
- Drive the creation of tools, reports, and workflows that directly improve the experience of Scale's public sector customers and accelerate delivery.
- Maintain rigorous prioritization and planning discipline to balance competing demands across stakeholders and timelines.
- Communicate status, dependencies, and decisions clearly and frequently to all levels of the organization.
- Support the refinement and optimization of existing computer vision workflows based on customer feedback and operational performance data.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce friction for both customers and internal teams.
- Ensure all deliverables meet the quality, security, and compliance standards required for national security environments.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers by anticipating needs and providing actionable recommendations based on program health insights.
Requirements
- Hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bring 3 or more years of work experience succeeding in stakeholder management or customer-facing roles delivering enterprise-scale applications or solutions.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of ML operations processes and how they translate into real-world deployments.
- Show a track record of structured, analytics-driven problem solving in complex environments.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Be willing to be onsite with customers up to 4 days per week in the DMV area and/or prepared to travel a minimum of 25 percent.
- Have a technical background, evidenced by education or professional experience in computer science, economics, statistics, or engineering.
- Have a proven record in B2B client-facing roles focused on expanding and maintaining client relationships over time.
- Have prior experience owning the technical implementation of solutions within government environments.
Nice to have
- Experience working on public sector programs that involve computer vision workflows.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks commonly used in ML operations and model deployment.
- Background in managing programs that require strict adherence to government compliance and security standards.
- Track record of building tools or dashboards that improve transparency and decision-making for customer stakeholders.
Practical notes
This role may require up to 4 days per week onsite in the DMV area and/or a minimum of 25 percent travel. Employment eligibility and background checks may apply. Candidates must meet the stated requirements at the time of application.
