About the role
Savvy is revolutionizing the wealth management industry by equipping independent financial advisors with an innovative AI-driven platform. We are in search of a skilled engineer to join our Research and Development team, focusing on creating tools that empower advisors to manage a larger number of households with enhanced efficiency. As a member of our rapidly growing Series B company, you will play a vital role in integrating AI into both our internal processes and client-facing workflows.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement new product features and updates for our platform, targeting both user interfaces for advisors and backend services, including APIs.
- AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to streamline your coding process and enhance the quality of your output.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from the initial planning stages through to production deployment, and make iterative improvements based on user feedback after launch.
- Write code that is clean, testable, and maintainable, ensuring it is suitable for production environments.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Data, to clarify project requirements and address potential execution challenges.
- Interact directly with financial advisors to gain insights into their operational workflows and needs, ensuring our tools are tailored to their requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform your development work and suggest innovative solutions.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in engineering roles.
- Proven experience with AI-assisted development, utilizing tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex as integral components of your workflow.
- A strong history of deploying web applications to production that have had a measurable impact on business outcomes.
- Comprehensive proficiency in full-stack development, particularly with technologies like Next.js, React, Rails, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience in building and deploying features that incorporate AI, such as workflows powered by large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, or interactive copilot functionalities.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering techniques, retrieval patterns, or evaluation frameworks.
- A background in fintech, wealth management, regulatory compliance, or financial data integration is advantageous.
- Knowledge of vector databases or embedding pipelines, including technologies like Pinecone, pgvector, or Weaviate.
- Experience with contemporary development infrastructure, including macOS toolchains, CI/CD practices, AWS/GCP, and observability tools like Datadog.
