Savvy is on a mission to the wealth management industry by equipping independent financial advisors with an innovative AI-driven operating system. We are in search of a seasoned engineer who will play a crucial role in designing and implementing impactful features for our platform. This individual will also help establish the technical benchmarks that will guide our expanding Research and Development team.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of intricate product and platform projects, from the initial planning stages to deployment in a live environment.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices focused on testing, observability, and iterative development.
- Incorporate advanced AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex into the development process to enhance team productivity.
- Make architectural decisions related to data modeling, defining service boundaries, and evaluating system trade-offs.
- Offer technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members to foster their professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with design and product teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with uncertain projects.
- Interact directly with financial advisors to collect insights and refine product specifications based on their feedback.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's coding standards and practices.
- Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability of the platform.
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for new features and enhancements.
- Document architectural decisions and technical processes to maintain clarity and transparency within the team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform future development strategies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering.
- Expertise in utilizing AI-assisted development tools and a strategic mindset for integrating AI into operational systems.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects from conception through to successful launch, achieving measurable business outcomes.
- In-depth technical knowledge of our technology stack, which includes Rails, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, including potential failure modes, scalability considerations, and service design.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective collaboration across various teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in deploying AI features in production environments, such as agentic workflows, large language model (LLM) integrations, or retrieval pipelines.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks, including LangSmith or RAGAS.
- Background in financial technology, wealth management, or knowledge of regulatory compliance issues.
- Practical experience with vector databases and embedding pipelines.
- Knowledge of modern infrastructure solutions, including AWS or GCP, CI/CD processes, and observability tools like Honeycomb or Datadog.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
