About the role

Join Samsara's Platform EMEA team to build the core infrastructure for our developer ecosystem and reporting capabilities. You will contribute to systems that enable AI agents to securely access, interpret, and act upon operational data, shaping the future of agentic workflows at enterprise scale. This role focuses on designing and implementing full-stack solutions with a strong emphasis on backend and distributed systems.

What you'll do

• Develop foundational components for agentic experiences, allowing AI to discover data, utilize tools, and integrate with external systems for reliable enterprise-level workflows.
• Architect systems designed for high throughput, availability, security, and ease of maintenance.
• Utilize AI coding assistants like Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor throughout the development process, from design to code review and operations.
• Enhance existing frameworks, tooling, and engineering practices to boost team efficiency across Samsara.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and influence architectural decisions and the overall technical direction.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production systems.
• Prior experience in at least one of these areas: developer platforms, integration frameworks, event-driven architectures, data platforms, or analytical reporting infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production software at enterprise scale or handle high volumes of transactions and data.
• Proficient backend engineering skills, including API design, distributed systems, data modeling, reliability, and observability.
• Experience delivering full-stack features and collaborating effectively across frontend and backend development.
• Practical, expert-level knowledge of AI coding assistants such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor.
• Ability to make informed engineering trade-offs and articulate technical decisions clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and managing public-facing REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with high-throughput event streaming platforms.
• Background in building extensible integration or application frameworks.
• Experience with distributed data fetching, query execution, reporting, or analytical systems.
