Software Engineer I
Job description
About the role
You will immediately dive into challenging, real-world projects with the freedom and responsibility of a full-time engineer, owning end to end feature delivery from conception through production. We believe in providing a greenfield opportunity for growth and a high degree of ownership from day one, enabling you to design solutions that directly shape the future of connected operations. You will build and innovate, making a tangible impact on our global customers by shipping features that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability across critical industries. You will partner closely with product and design to rapidly iterate on features, translating user needs into robust backend services and intuitive front end experiences. On the mobile side, you will help strengthen the infrastructure behind our React Native app, enabling feature teams to move quickly and build performant, maintainable products for field teams. For those focused on embedded software, you will build and maintain software that runs directly on Samsara hardware, spanning areas like edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing in demanding real-world environments. You will leverage the latest AI tools, with generous token allotments, to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and learn faster while shipping more. Throughout your journey, you will work alongside experienced engineers who mentor you while relying on your initiative and curiosity to define technical direction across our platform.
