About the role
Rowan is on the lookout for a dedicated People Operations Generalist to oversee essential HR functions and manage the employee lifecycle. This pivotal position within the People Operations team is designed to ensure that HR systems operate smoothly, compliance is maintained, and employees receive the support they need throughout their journey with the company. You will play a key role in maintaining the operational framework of the People & Culture department, working closely with Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners, managers, and staff.

What you'll do
- Oversee the entire pre-boarding and onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the company.
- Facilitate the completion of I-9 forms, conduct employment verifications, and manage background checks for new employees.
- Keep employee records updated and manage onboarding workflows using HiBob and other HR systems.
- Organize workstation assignments and logistics for employees working in the office.
- Assist in managing employee lifecycle events, including status changes, promotions, transfers, and offboarding procedures.
- Guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of data within HR systems.
- Process various employee transactions, including new hires, changes in status, leave requests, and terminations.
- Help administer the employee handbook, ensuring policies are acknowledged and updated as necessary.
- Handle requests for employment verification and routine documentation from employees.
- Maintain and update People & Culture SharePoint sites, forms, and operational documents.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and People programs, providing clear and accurate information.
- Support the administration of employee benefits, compliance tracking, and communication efforts.
- Assist with payroll and audits related to people operations by ensuring accurate documentation is maintained.
- Help manage employee incentive programs, including communication and updates on program status.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor mandatory compliance training programs for employees.
- Maintain the accuracy of HRIS data and assist in conducting HR system audits.
- Support reporting, workflow automation, and process enhancements within People systems.
- Organize onsite interviews and manage communications with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Keep candidate records updated in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Coordinate offer letters, background checks, and onboarding transitions for new hires.
- Provide support for recruiting metrics, reporting, and process documentation.
- Manage the referral bonus program for employees.
- Collaborate with the People Operations Analyst to generate workforce and recruiting reports.
- Drive improvements in People Operations processes and reporting through automation and standardization initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or Recruiting Coordination is essential.
- Proven experience in supporting various aspects of the employee lifecycle in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms is required.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential employee information responsibly.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities are crucial.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to follow-through are necessary.
- A strong customer service mindset is essential for success in this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for effective interaction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment in all situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, HRIS, and recruiting systems is necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on process improvement are highly valued.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
