You will build a deep understanding of the Angry Birds 2 game and its key business levers, translating that knowledge into concrete actions that move the needle. In this capacity, you will own the analysis of core game performance indicators and user behavior patterns to support critical strategic decisions. You will partner closely with product managers and designers to build new game features designed to improve player engagement and long term retention. The role requires you to structure ambiguous problems in collaboration with stakeholders and define the analytical approach needed to solve them. You will act as a dedicated member of the live ops pod, providing timely insights that guide daily execution and weekly content planning. You will leverage advanced SQL and data visualization tools to create dashboards that track the impact of changes in real time. Ultimately, your work will ensure that data guides our day to day operations and fulfills the mission of the Data and Analytics craft at Rovio.

What you'll do
Analyze core performance metrics for Angry Birds 2, defining trends and anomalies that inform live operations decisions.
Design and maintain SQL queries and data models that feed into dashboards used by product and marketing teams on a regular basis.
Create clear visualizations and reports that communicate complex player behavior to non technical stakeholders in an accessible format.
Collaborate with live ops specialists to define experiments, set up tracking, and evaluate the success of new game features before wide release.
Partner with designers to translate design concepts into measurable hypotheses and validate them through event level analysis.
Support the prioritization of upcoming content by assessing potential impact on key metrics such as retention, progression, and monetization.
Own the documentation of data definitions and calculation logic to ensure consistency and transparency across the organization.
Act as the primary analytical contact for the Angry Birds 2 live ops pod, responding to ad hoc requests with high accuracy and speed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in the data pipeline, suggesting optimizations that increase reliability and reduce manual effort.
Translate vague problem statements into structured analytical plans, outlining required data sources, metrics, and validation steps.
Challenge assumptions by conducting deep dives into user segments that exhibit unexpected behavior, uncovering root causes and recommendations.
Present findings to cross functional teams, aligning on actions and tracking outcomes to demonstrate the tangible value of analytical work.
Requirements
You must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
You must have proven experience working with SQL, writing complex queries to extract, transform, and aggregate data from relational databases.
You must have hands on experience building dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
You must have a strong understanding of game analytics concepts, including cohort analysis, retention curves, and funnel analysis.
You must be comfortable working in a fast moving environment where priorities can change quickly based on live operations needs.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical findings to non technical audiences.
You must be able to work independently and take ownership of your work, while also collaborating effectively within a small cross functional team.
You must be based in or willing to relocate to Stockholm and be eligible to work in Sweden without sponsorship.
Nice to have
Experience with game analytics platforms or tools commonly used in mobile live ops environments.
Familiarity with version control practices and data pipeline tooling.
Basic knowledge of game development processes and terminology.
Practical notes
The position is based in our studio in the centre of Stockholm and operates in a hybrid mode with three days per week onsite.
Only candidates residing in or capable of relocating to Sweden will be considered due to visa and compliance requirements.
No specific working hours are outlined, but the role is expected to align with standard business hours for effective collaboration with the live ops pod.
