What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable systems architecture that supports Roku's streaming services and devices, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate new features and enhancements into existing systems, focusing on optimizing performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related role, with a proven track record of managing complex systems.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby, with experience in automation and configuration management tools.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their associated services, including deployment and management.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, contributing to a dynamic and iterative development process.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of streaming technologies and protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH) relevant to media delivery.
