What you'll do
- Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of scalable software solutions that enhance Roku's streaming platform.
- Collaborate with product management and design teams to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Establish best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing protocols to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies within the team, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to enhance team productivity.
- Mentor and coach team members to foster their professional development, providing guidance on technical challenges and career growth opportunities.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies and tools that improve development efficiency and product performance.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, and experience with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, particularly AWS or Azure, and experience in deploying applications in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello.
- A track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.

- Experience in the streaming media industry or related fields.
- Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning concepts.
