Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Roku is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Ad Data Activation team in Bengaluru. You will design and deploy intelligent systems that merge generative AI agents with traditional machine learning to improve advertising data, identity resolution, and audience modeling.

What you'll do

• Build and scale ML models and data pipelines for identity, audience segmentation, and campaign performance.
• Design experiments and translate data findings into product improvements.
• Develop agentic, generative AI features, including natural-language analytics and campaign monitoring tools with human-in-the-loop oversight.
• Optimize the reliability and automation of feature engineering, model training, and deployment frameworks.
• Collaborate with software and ML engineers to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Partner with leadership to define the strategy for AI safety and advertiser productivity.
• Act as a technical lead for AI agents, managing context, verifying outputs, and planning development cycles.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in CS, CE, ML, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience applying ML or data science to large-scale business problems.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms such as Spark, Presto, Trino, or data lakes.
• Background in ML techniques including regression, classification, tree-based methods, embeddings, or sequence models.
• Ability to define KPIs and evaluation frameworks for ML systems.
• Experience with LLM and generative AI pipelines, including prompting, retrieval, and safety.
• Fluency in agentic engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or MCP servers.

• Prior patents, publications, or open-source contributions.
