What you'll do

• Lead the definition and development of essential systems such as the process lifecycle manager and asset download orchestrator, ensuring they meet the needs of our growing user base.
• Create and manage a multi-year strategic roadmap aimed at modernizing our app architecture, focusing on key areas such as modularization, network resilience, and resource efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to explore new solutions that will enhance the scalability of our app, diving deep into technical challenges and opportunities.
• Oversee the roadmap for observability and logging systems, identifying gaps and spearheading the development of new features that enhance our monitoring and triage capabilities.
• Foster strong relationships with feature teams across Roblox, providing support and guidance as they integrate and migrate to the latest architectural standards.
• Produce comprehensive product and technical specifications that clearly outline system requirements and behaviors, enabling your team to execute effectively.
• Influence and expand the company's approach to critical themes such as performance, reliability, and maintainability, partnering with teams focused on app performance and infrastructure reliability.
• Engage with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including engineers, designers, data scientists, and product managers, to align on goals and strategies.
• Present complex decisions and strategies to our leadership team, fostering discussions that drive the company's vision forward.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent experience in a technical field, such as computer science or software engineering.
• Proven experience as a product manager, particularly in developing platforms or highly technical products.
• Background as an engineer or engineering manager with experience in building platform products and managing complex system designs.
• Demonstrated ability to own and drive roadmaps that span multiple feature areas, ensuring alignment and progress across teams.
• At least 5-7 years of product management experience or equivalent, with a track record of building scalable platforms that operate at a large scale.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues through profiling or debugging.
• Highly technical, with a comfort level in discussing both high-level architecture and detailed implementation aspects of systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
• Experience in fast-paced environments, demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to manage competing priorities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Strong organizational skills, recognizing the importance of collaboration in achieving great results.

Practical notes

For positions located at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA, the starting base salary for this role ranges from $280,540 to $330,950 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as professional background, experience, and market demand. All full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and benefits as outlined in our company policies.
