Senior Product Manager, Engineering Acceleration
Job description
About the role
Roblox is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Engineering Acceleration team, responsible for shaping how software engineers build and deploy code across the organization. This strategic position focuses on empowering thousands of engineers to concentrate on creating immersive metaverse experiences rather than wrestling with infrastructure complexities. You will own critical developer experience domains including continuous deployment pipelines, testing frameworks, and observability systems while adapting to shifting organizational needs. The role demands someone who understands both traditional software development lifecycle practices and the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence tooling landscape that is fundamentally transforming how engineering teams operate. This represents an exceptional opportunity for an infrastructure-focused product leader to create meaningful, measurable impact across a substantial engineering organization building one of the world's largest interactive platforms.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Establish and communicate a compelling long-term vision and strategic roadmap for testing infrastructure, continuous deployment systems, and observability platforms that serve the entire engineering organization
- Take ownership of engineering productivity metrics and developer satisfaction scores across your portfolio domains, implementing improvements based on quantitative and qualitative feedback
- Harness artificial intelligence capabilities to design and deliver next-generation tooling that dramatically amplifies engineer effectiveness and reduces manual toil
- Transform internal platform offerings into world-class developer experiences that engineers genuinely enjoy using daily and actively recommend to colleagues
- Collaborate extensively with Engineering, Design, Security, and Site Reliability leadership to ensure priorities remain aligned and execution stays coordinated across organizational boundaries
- Consolidate and modernize fragmented tooling ecosystems to support diverse workload types while driving broad adoption and demonstrating measurable business impact
- Navigate the secure software supply chain management landscape, ensuring that deployment pipelines maintain appropriate security controls without sacrificing developer velocity
- Champion source control best practices and workflows that scale effectively as the engineering organization grows and codebases become increasingly complex
- Identify opportunities to reduce friction in the software development lifecycle by analyzing developer workflows and eliminating unnecessary steps or bottlenecks
- Balance competing priorities across multiple infrastructure domains while maintaining focus on initiatives that deliver the greatest organizational value
- Communicate product strategy, progress, and outcomes effectively to stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership
- Stay current with emerging trends in developer tooling, infrastructure automation, and AI-assisted development to ensure Roblox remains at the forefront of engineering productivity
Requirements
- Minimum ten years of product management experience with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility over time
- At least five years specifically focused on delivering infrastructure products, developer tools, or operations platforms to internal or external customers
- Comprehensive understanding of modern testing methodologies, observability solutions, and continuous integration and deployment systems across various technology stacks
- Demonstrated expertise in current artificial intelligence developer tools, including practical knowledge of their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate application scenarios
- Strong technical foundation, preferably including a Computer Science degree or equivalent hands-on experience working closely with engineering teams
- Proven track record of defining multi-year product strategies and successfully rallying large cross-functional teams around shared objectives and milestones
- Comfort operating effectively in ambiguous environments, making consequential decisions with incomplete information, and driving initiatives from initial concept through successful launch
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Nice to have
- Prior experience working at companies operating large-scale distributed systems serving millions of concurrent users
- Background in gaming, interactive entertainment, or platform companies with substantial developer ecosystems
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms
- Experience implementing or managing secure software supply chain practices including artifact signing, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management
- Track record of successfully launching AI-powered features or tools that achieved meaningful adoption and measurable productivity improvements
- Understanding of platform engineering principles and internal developer platform design patterns
Skills & tools
- Product management methodologies including roadmapping, prioritization frameworks, and stakeholder management
