What you'll do

Drive the live status of the Data Foundations portfolio, maintaining a trusted, real time view of what is on track, at risk, or off course, and pushing for clarity before issues escalate.

Own the end to end strategy, posture, and renewal planning for DF vendor relationships, coordinating with Procurement, Purchasing, Finance, TSO, and Legal to establish a durable operating model.

Partner with Finance to own DF budget visibility, ensuring accurate forecasting, capitalization, and timely financial reporting for leadership.

Identify and prioritize opportunities across DF and related data disciplines to streamline internal operations, improve how value is surfaced to customers, and strengthen business cases for investments and standards.

Represent DF Business Operations in cross-Riot data forums and stakeholder rituals, building credibility and gradually taking ownership over data governance conversations.

Apply AI and automation to simplify workflows, speed decision making, and increase leverage across data operations and vendor management.

Translate complex operational detail into concise, high impact narratives for senior leaders, ensuring that tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes are understood quickly.

Monitor vendor performance, contractual terms, and market conditions to proactively manage renewals, mitigate risk, and optimize total cost of ownership.

Collaborate with engineering leads to align roadmaps, dependencies, and delivery practices so that data platform initiatives remain sustainable and focused on player value.

Champion continuous improvement by documenting patterns, refining operational playbooks, and mentoring other producers and stakeholders on best practices.

Balance competing priorities with calm, structured problem solving, keeping the DF portfolio aligned with Riot's broader data and product strategies.

Act as the primary point of contact for cross functional stakeholders, ensuring commitments are tracked, dependencies are managed, and outcomes are delivered on schedule.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or bring equivalent experience that demonstrates the same depth of learning and judgment.

Bring a minimum of 6 years of experience as a Producer, Technical Program Manager, Chief of Staff, Business Operations lead, or a comparable role in a technical organization.

Show a clear history of owning portfolio, vendor, or financial operations for a technical or platform team, with evidence of improved clarity and execution.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate dense operational detail into a clear "so what" for senior leaders.

Prove you can improve operating practices across teams and functions, increasing clarity, efficiency, and execution over time.

Have direct experience applying AI and automation to streamline organizational workflows, accelerate decision-making, and increase operating leverage.

Comfortably work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment where priorities shift and problems are complex.

Communicate with precision and empathy, building trust with engineers, finance, legal, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience supporting a data, developer, or infrastructure platform.

SaaS vendor management at scale, including renewal strategy, contract preparation, and QBRs.

Finance partnership on budget forecasting, spend management, or capitalization.

Fluency with Jira, portfolio reporting tools, and lightweight BI using SQL or dashboards.

Prior experience in games or another creative technical industry.
