What you'll do

• Oversee intricate analytical projects that span multiple games, assessing player behavior trends across the entire portfolio.
• Develop and sustain scalable data tools, dashboards, and datasets that serve various teams within the organization.
• Mentor and guide analysts within the CPI team and across different game development teams to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Establish and standardize reporting methodologies and analytical practices to enhance consistency and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to implement analytics tables and enhance the underlying infrastructure for data analysis.
• Provide strategic advice to game leadership regarding staffing needs and workforce management in analytics.
• Set and maintain high standards for analytics practices within the gaming context, ensuring that insights are actionable and relevant.
• Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for executive and product leadership, enabling informed decision-making.
• Lead cross-functional teams in executing multi-party projects, ensuring alignment and progress across various stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in analytics to continuously improve the team's capabilities and effectiveness.
• Engage with other departments, including design and engineering, to ensure that analytics initiatives align with overall product strategy.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in analytics, with the possibility of substituting up to 2 years for an advanced degree.
• At least 3 years of direct experience in the gaming analytics sector is essential.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and work autonomously.
• Experience in converting data insights into actionable strategies for executive and product teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across design, engineering, and product teams.
• A solid understanding of product strategy and game design principles is critical for success in this role.

Nice to have

• An advanced degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with competitive player-versus-player (PvP) game titles is a plus.
• Familiarity with building automated data pipelines to streamline analytics processes.
• Proficiency in deploying machine learning models or utilizing advanced statistical methodologies can be advantageous.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in SQL for database querying and management.
• Experience with Python or Pyspark for data manipulation and analysis.
• Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting purposes.

Practical notes

• The salary range for this position is between $224,800.00 and $337,700.00 USD as a base salary.
• Compensation packages include incentive pay, equity options, and a 401k plan with company matching contributions.
