About the role
Rilla is building software to understand the offline world, starting with sales coaching for businesses. As an Integrations Software Engineer, you will work directly with clients to connect their data with Rilla's AI, solving complex problems and creating real-world impact. This role offers the chance to contribute to critical industries and operate with the autonomy of a startup CTO. You will be responsible for architecting and maintaining the connective tissue between Rilla's platform and the diverse ecosystems our clients rely on. This position demands a high level of ownership where you will troubleshoot intricate data flows and ensure seamless communication between systems. You will act as a technical partner to clients, guiding them through implementation and helping them extract maximum value from their integration. Your work will directly influence how sales teams adopt and utilize AI-driven insights in their daily routines.

What you'll do
- Partner with client stakeholders to dissect business requirements and translate them into robust technical integration strategies.
- Architect and deploy scalable integration pipelines that reliably move data between customer databases and Rilla's AI services.
- Write clean, maintainable code that handles the complexity of disparate data formats and API structures.
- Lead the design of integration layers that abstract client-specific logic, enabling rapid deployment for new accounts.
- Conduct deep analysis of data schemas to map customer workflows accurately into Rilla's conversational intelligence models.
- Build and maintain connectors for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Optimize data ingestion processes to handle high-volume transaction records without degradation in performance.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned clients, providing clear communication regarding timelines and technical constraints.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve integration failures in production environments.
- Collaborate with product managers to define the roadmap for integration capabilities based on client feedback and market demands.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure that integration solutions adhere to best practices and security standards.
- Explore emerging integration patterns and technologies to continuously improve the architecture of Rilla's platform.
- Document integration procedures and APIs to facilitate knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
- Mentor junior engineers on the nuances of distributed systems and the challenges of real-time data synchronization.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong coding ability through practical experience with languages such as Javascript, C++, Python, or Rust in professional projects.
- Possess a solid understanding of data storage systems including databases and data processing frameworks used in cloud infrastructure.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and provide constructive feedback.
- Be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients at their physical locations.
- Have a proven track record of solving complex technical problems independently and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Show commitment to writing tests and maintaining high code quality to ensure the stability of integration features.
- Bring experience with version control systems, specifically Git, to manage collaborative software development efforts.
- Display adaptability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly to support the evolving needs of the business.
Skills & tools
- Expertise in Typescript for building reliable and efficient backend and frontend services.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data transformation, and automation tasks.
- Experience with Node.js to develop scalable network applications.
- Familiarity with Turborepo to manage monorepo workflows and optimize build times.
- Knowledge of Lodash for simplifying complex array and object manipulations in JavaScript.
- Understanding of Zod for implementing runtime type checking and data validation.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions to automate testing and deployment pipelines.
- Competence in writing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision cloud resources.
- Experience with Spacelift to manage and govern Terraform environments at scale.
Practical notes
You should be prepared for an intense work environment, including approximately 60 hours per week in the office and in the field. Total compensation may include Incentive Stock Options, a sign-on bonus, and other future incentives.
