Performance Marketing Manager
Job description
About the role
At Rilla, we are redefining how blue-collar, trades businesses grow by building conversation intelligence software for in-person sales. Imagine the power of the internet's search and data capabilities applied to the offline world of HVAC, real estate, automobile, and windows sales. Our mobile app records face-to-face customer conversations, automatically transcribes them, and uses AI to analyze and surface actionable insights. This empowers historically underserved tradespeople with the decision-making tools previously reserved for the largest tech companies. We are a Cloud 100 Rising Star, backed by top-tier investors, growing 10% month-over-month, cash flow positive, and delivering exceptional Net Revenue Retention and NPS. Because of this momentum, we are actively building the team to own our next chapter of growth. This role is full-time, in-person, in NYC, and we offer relocation assistance to the right candidate.
What you'll do
You will be the first dedicated performance marketing hire at Rilla, taking full ownership of our paid acquisition strategy and execution. You will architect and scale a high-impact paid media program that directly drives customer acquisition and revenue growth. This role demands a relentless focus on measurable outcomes, where you will own the entire funnel from awareness to conversion and retention. You will be responsible for transforming our existing paid media channels into a predictable and scalable growth engine. You will work in a fast-paced environment where data meets creativity, and your insights will directly shape the future of our brand. You will partner closely with leadership to define growth goals and execute against them with precision and agility. Your work will empower blue-collar, trades businesses by providing them with world-class growth tools.
- Take complete ownership of Rilla's paid media portfolio, managing a daily budget of approximately $4,000 across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and YouTube with plans to scale significantly.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of all existing paid campaigns to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for exponential growth.
- Design and execute end-to-end campaign strategies, including audience segmentation, creative direction, bidding tactics, and budget distribution.
- Establish rigorous tracking frameworks to monitor CAC, ROAS, pipeline contribution, and conversion rates with precision and clarity, reporting on them regularly.
- Lead a continuous experimentation roadmap, testing new channels, creative concepts, audience targets, and messaging variations to find scalable winners.
- Implement a structured creative testing process to identify high-performing hooks, formats, angles, and core messages that resonate.
- Produce advertising assets that resonate with blue-collar tradespeople, avoiding generic B2B jargon and focusing on real-world value and outcomes.
- Build and maintain detailed performance dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to align messaging with customer pain points and to optimize the user journey from ad to activation.
- Document all processes and learnings to create a scalable and repeatable performance marketing framework that can outlast any individual.
Requirements
- You possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates a strong foundation in performance marketing principles.
- You have a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in performance marketing or growth roles, with increasing responsibility and measurable impact.
- You have a proven track record of managing paid media budgets exceeding $1 million annually, demonstrating efficiency and scalability at scale.
- You demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and Google Analytics 4, including advanced reporting and conversion modeling.
- You have hands-on experience with CRM platforms, particularly HubSpot, and marketing automation workflows including email, lead nurturing, and lifecycle campaigns.
- You show a deep understanding of B2B SaaS metrics, including CAC, LTV, retention strategies, and cohort analysis, even when applied to non-SaaS environments with similar economics.
- You are comfortable making data-driven decisions in a fast-moving startup environment, balancing speed with rigor and learning quickly from both successes and failures.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas simply to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working within the home services, HVAC, real estate, or automotive industries, where purchase cycles are complex and trust is critical.
- Familiarity with construction, plumbing, electrical, or other trade verticals, allowing for deeper empathy and more relevant messaging.
- Experience with creative testing tools like Google Optimize or VWO to run structured experiments on landing pages and creative variations.
- Knowledge of SEO content principles to support paid efforts, ensuring cohesive messaging across owned and paid channels.
