Generalist Intern, Fall 2026

About the role

Rilla is building foundational infrastructure to index the offline world, and this internship places you at the center of that mission. You will embed directly into the operational engine of the company and own real projects that move the business forward. Across sales, operations, finance, recruiting, and any other urgent priority, you will tackle the most critical work the company faces. You will collaborate closely with founders and leadership, solving problems that have direct impact on customers and the business. This is not a peripheral role; you will be a core contributor who moves fast, takes ownership, and delivers measurable results. You will leave the summer with concrete outputs, stories of what you built, and a deep understanding of how a high-velocity startup operates in the real world.

What you'll do

Take on high-priority projects across sales, operations, finance, recruiting, and anything else the business needs.

Work directly with founders and leadership on live problems that affect real customers and the trajectory of the company.

Build tools, processes, and fixes that improve how the company serves its customers and operates on a daily basis.

Move at high velocity, making decisions quickly and iterating based on real-world feedback from the field.

Operate with extreme ownership, treating every project as if it were your own responsibility to see through completion.

Leave the company in a better state than you found it, with tangible improvements that persist beyond your internship.

Obsess over clarity and quality in your work, ensuring that outputs are reliable, understandable, and useful to non-technical stakeholders.

Engage with customers and internal teams to understand pain points and translate them into actionable projects and systems.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Ability to work full-time in person in New York City for the summer.

No specific major required - we care about how you think, not what you studied.

Evidence that you have done hard things and figured things out on your own.

Unafraid of failure and view it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve for the next challenge.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and problems are solved rapidly.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with founders, leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Willingness to take on ambiguous problems with incomplete information and still make progress.

Practical notes

Work ~70 hrs/week in person with some of the most ambitious people in NYC.

Attempting to build a generational company, and the intensity required to do so.
