About the role
Ridealso is on the lookout for a Global Commodity Manager to take charge of the electronics and semiconductor supply chain associated with our electric vehicle lineup. This position encompasses the management of components throughout their lifecycle, starting from the initial design phase all the way to mass production. As the key commercial liaison for manufacturers, you will work closely with teams in Engineering, Manufacturing, and New Product Introduction to ensure seamless integration and execution.

What you'll do
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for electrical engineering components and semiconductors that supports both current and future vehicle models, ensuring scalability and adaptability.
- Develop and maintain a semiconductor technology roadmap that aligns product design with prevailing industry trends and supplier capabilities to foster innovation.
- Oversee the Approved Vendor List, which includes the identification and qualification of new suppliers, as well as the assessment of their ongoing performance to ensure quality and reliability.
- Engage in negotiations for long-term agreements, including Master Purchase Agreements and quality specifications for essential components required for production and expansion.
- Conduct thorough reviews of the Bill of Materials to pinpoint risks associated with end-of-life components, single-source dependencies, and technical limitations prior to finalizing designs.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams to find an optimal balance between cost, performance, and supply chain resilience in design choices.
- Develop should-cost models aimed at minimizing total ownership costs through effective negotiation and value engineering strategies.
- Identify potential vulnerabilities within the EE supply chain, such as geopolitical risks or capacity constraints, and create hedging and continuity plans to mitigate these risks.
- Keep abreast of market dynamics, including pricing trends, lead times, capacity issues, and technological advancements in silicon, to inform strategic decision-making.
- Set up supplier performance metrics, conduct regular business reviews, and make site visits to suppliers to enhance cost efficiency, strengthen relationships, and drive development initiatives.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in global sourcing or commodity management, particularly in the semiconductor sector or with complex electrical engineering components, including involvement in New Product Introduction.
- Hands-on sourcing experience in one or more of the following areas: computing (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, MCUs, DRAM, NAND), perception (IMUs, radar, vision sensors, camera modules), power and motion (PMICs, battery management systems, motor controllers), connectivity (USB, PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, wireless, signal integrity), or interaction (display and touch).
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering), Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated capability to secure long-term agreements with global manufacturers, backed by a solid technical understanding of the semiconductor landscape.
- Ability to work autonomously as a subject-matter expert, cultivate strong relationships both internally and externally, and be willing to travel domestically and internationally about 25% of the time.
