Product Marketing Lead, NYC
Job description
About the role
You are the product marketing leader for Rho, owning how the company shows up across every market and customer interaction. You report directly to the VP of Marketing and act as the internal voice of the customer, shaping how the organization sells, builds, and communicates. In this position, you are responsible for turning complex product capabilities into clear, credible narratives that the entire company can use. You obsess over the exact word, the right story, and the most efficient way to turn positioning problems into launchable work. You will build scalable agents and playbooks that allow the function to move fast without adding headcount. You partner closely with Sales Enablement to improve close rates and ensure every rep has the right narrative at the right time.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own new market entries by defining positioning, narrative, pricing story, competitive strategy, and launch execution for multiple new product categories each year, building the entry playbook that makes every launch faster than the last.
- Own Rho Labs and the story behind the company's most advanced AI product work, making agentic and AI-native capabilities legible to customers, investors, and the market without relying on hype or hand-waving.
- Be the single owner of the launch calendar, including sequencing, readiness, and go/no-go decisions for everything Rho ships, deciding what launches loud, what launches quiet, and what does not ship at all.
- Own the release comms channels and adoption programs so that launched products are discovered, understood, and used by customers, turning launch into the start of an ongoing story rather than the final step.
- Partner with Sales to convert product capability into field-ready stories, objection handling, and competitive narratives that win head-to-head deals and improve close rates over time.
- Own the SMB go-to-market strategy by turning segment research into sharp ICP definitions, customer language, and entry playbooks for each segment, working with Growth to turn positioning into live campaigns.
- Build and maintain a continuous feedback loop where performance data sharpens positioning, ensuring that every decision traces back to customer evidence on a quarterly basis.
- Own the rho.co website messaging end to end, including narrative, page architecture, copy, and launch pages, with the ability to ship changes directly and iterate based on real behavior.
- Run a continuous customer interview cadence and own the synthesis of findings so that sales, growth, creative, and product teams can act on them with clarity and speed.
- Own customer marketing by turning the customer base into proof through case studies, references, testimonials, and advocates across every segment Rho serves.
- Manage and develop the product marketer who supports the function, setting the direction and pace for a high-performing team.
- Ship pages, tools, and campaigns personally, demonstrating a track record of building and publishing real work that moves the business.
Requirements
- You have 7+ years of experience in product marketing, including at least one new category or product line entry that you owned end to end from discovery to launch and post-launch optimization.
- You can market AI products credibly, understanding how agentic products actually work and explaining them in clear language without resorting to hype or vague hand-waving.
- You have personally built and published pages, tools, or campaigns and can show examples of your work when we review your portfolio.
- You have built ICPs and segmentation strategies based on primary research and behavioral data rather than relying solely on analyst reports or secondary sources.
- You conduct customer calls yourself and convert the insights from those conversations into clear decisions and actions for the rest of the company.
- You are a systems thinker who builds playbooks, insight loops, and workflows that make every subsequent initiative faster and more reliable than the last.
- You have managed at least one direct report and have experience developing people through feedback, coaching, and clear expectations.
- You write quickly, cleanly, and in the language of the customer, avoiding jargon and communicating complex ideas with simplicity and precision.
