What you'll do

• Architect and build backend services utilizing programming languages such as Python and Go to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Create and manage APIs using modern technologies like GraphQL and gRPC, enhancing the integration capabilities of our platform.
• Participate in the management of our infrastructure, leveraging tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform to streamline deployment and operations.
• Analyze and improve system performance, focusing on optimizing asynchronous programming techniques to enhance user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications that align with business goals.
• Engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to our services and maintaining high availability.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our development practices and tools.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Python programming, with a strong focus on asynchronous programming and performance optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement web applications and services that meet user needs and business objectives.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures, including their performance considerations and trade-offs.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Proven experience working in complex, regulated environments, collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Background in a startup or enterprise setting within highly technical fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, finance, or blockchain technology.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Go, TypeScript, or Ruby, which can enhance team collaboration and project versatility.
• Experience with deploying applications using containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of message brokers and event streaming platforms, which can facilitate real-time data processing and communication.
• Familiarity with cloud service providers, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS), to support our cloud infrastructure.
• Background in the finance sector, including knowledge of payment networks such as ACH, Fedwire, or SWIFT, which can provide valuable insights into our domain.
• Understanding of accounting principles or financial software, which can aid in the development of features tailored to financial services.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers, contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
