About the role
In this role, you will be a vital resource for employees and managers at our Salt Lake City office, serving as the primary point of contact for all matters related to personnel. Your responsibilities will encompass local support while also spearheading broader initiatives that span multiple locations. You will play a key role in ensuring that our employee programs are impactful and beneficial for all team members.

What you'll do
- Provide guidance to local management on various team dynamics and effective people management strategies.
- Support employees throughout their entire journey with the company, starting from the onboarding process and continuing through their tenure.
- Address employee relations concerns with a focus on discretion and sound judgment, ensuring a supportive work environment.
- Collaborate with both internal and external teams to contribute to compliance and audit initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Oversee administrative and operational responsibilities within the People function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and develop scalable solutions, including the integration of AI for improved documentation and reporting.
- Serve as a visible and dependable representative of the People team for staff members in Salt Lake City, fostering a culture of openness and support.
- Develop and implement training programs that align with company goals and enhance employee skills and engagement.
- Analyze employee feedback and metrics to inform decision-making and improve overall employee satisfaction.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation processes to maintain a harmonious workplace.
- Partner with leadership to align people strategies with business objectives, ensuring a cohesive approach to talent management.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to continuously improve the effectiveness of the People function.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations, ideally within a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture trust with both management and staff members.
- Strong capability to communicate the objectives of the People team clearly and integrate them into everyday operations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed with precision and accuracy.
- A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership, committed to seeing projects through to their successful conclusion.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various audiences and contexts.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience in a tech startup or similar environment, which can provide valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by rapidly growing companies.
- Knowledge of HR software and tools that streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Familiarity with employment law and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Previous experience in developing employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
- Certification in HR or related fields, which can enhance your credibility and expertise in the role.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and other relevant software tools.
- Strong capabilities in data analysis and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their application in HR processes.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage various responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
