About the role

In this role, you will blend technical expertise with consultative problem-solving to enhance collaboration and workflow management across various teams within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with stakeholders to gain insights into their operational processes, design tailored solutions, and implement configurations within enterprise productivity platforms. While the focus will be on Jira and Confluence, the position also encompasses process analysis, governance, and user empowerment. You will need to navigate the balance between user requirements and the necessary security protocols, governance policies, and overall system sustainability.

What you'll do

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their business objectives, workflows, and any challenges they face in their operations.
• Translate business requirements into scalable configurations on the platform and recommend appropriate tools, processes, or integrations.
• Evaluate whether incoming requests align with current capabilities, necessitate changes to the platform, or require alternative solutions.
• Set up and manage Jira projects, Confluence spaces, workflows, automations, forms, and dashboards to optimize team performance.
• Adhere to established configuration standards and governance policies to maintain consistency across the platform.
• Participate in initiatives aimed at streamlining and enhancing platform operations for better efficiency.
• Manage access controls, conduct permission audits, and perform governance-related tasks to ensure compliance.
• Engage in configuration reviews, change management processes, and activities focused on maintaining platform health.
• Ensure that all operations align with security, audit, and compliance standards to protect organizational data.
• Provide coaching to users on platform features and best practices to enhance their productivity.
• Develop training materials and documentation to empower teams to work independently and effectively.
• Communicate the trade-offs between customization and long-term maintainability to stakeholders to guide decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, integration challenges, and user-reported incidents promptly.
• Assist with application upgrades, manage plugin lifecycles, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor platform performance metrics and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance user experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience in administering enterprise collaboration or workflow platforms like Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or comparable business applications.
• A systematic approach to diagnosing issues, resolving incidents, and enhancing reliability in integrated environments.
• Ability to analyze business workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate discussions, gather requirements, explain solutions, and provide training to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with access governance and best practices for platform hygiene that comply with security and regulatory standards.
• Understanding of how to integrate Atlassian, SharePoint, and other systems to minimize silos and enhance workflow efficiency.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as Atlassian Certified Professional or similar credentials that demonstrate advanced knowledge of the platform.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, IT Service Management (ITSM), project portfolio management, service catalogs, or operational workflows.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Java to facilitate automation and system integrations.
• Knowledge of usability and design principles when configuring projects, spaces, or workflows for optimal user experience.
• Exposure to cloud-based enterprise applications and supporting technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, or similar environments.
• Experience in application upgrades, platform migrations, or cloud adoption initiatives.

This position is based in one of three locations: Cape Canaveral, Florida; Long Beach, California; or Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
