As a Space, you will play a role in the development of the Terran R launch vehicle. This position emphasizes your technical expertise in simulation processes while fostering collaboration across various engineering disciplines. Your contributions will be crucial in addressing intricate engineering challenges and ensuring the success of missions from the ground up.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Incorporate existing design data into comprehensive simulations that reflect customer missions at full scale.
- Develop and implement software tools aimed at optimizing both launch and orbital trajectories.
- Lead interdisciplinary studies to inform critical decisions regarding vehicle design and operational concepts.
- Define and uphold high-level requirements for trajectory and vehicle design.
- Construct and sustain a software infrastructure that includes core simulation engines and analytical utilities.
- Collaborate closely with Vehicle Engineering teams to facilitate technical advancements across functions.
- Analyze simulation results to derive insights that will enhance vehicle performance and mission success.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in simulation development and analysis.
Requirements
- A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in tackling complex problems using first principles.
- A solid background in space systems, rocketry, or other intricate hardware domains.
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages, including Python, MATLAB, or Julia.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects from inception to completion.
- A proven track record of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in optimizing and designing trajectories for launch vehicles.
- A history of serving as a key contributor on multidisciplinary engineering analysis initiatives.
- Previous involvement with startup organizations.
- Familiarity with contemporary software development practices, such as CI/CD, Docker, and dependency management.
