Senior Rocket Transport Specialist
Job description
Space
About the role
You own the end-to-end movement of flight hardware for Terran R, guiding stages across land and sea while solving transport problems that have not been addressed before. This role demands ownership, autonomy, and direct impact on launch cadence and operational reliability. You will shape how large cargoes move, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and regulatory alignment from start to finish.
About the team
The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is the only place where you see it all come together, offering a level of exposure and responsibility unmatched elsewhere in the program. This is where first flights happen, where history is built on top of history, and where the scale of what is underway is unlike anything in modern aerospace. The mission stays the same, but the work evolves with every milestone: from first launch to reuse, high-cadence operations, and beyond. If you are looking to define what is next in space launch and write a new playbook, not just repeat what has already been done, this is where it happens.
Key facts
What you'll do
Orchestrate intake of heavy haul assets and route constraints, aligning transport plans with mission timelines and safety thresholds.
Design detailed build plans for transport rigs and escort protocols, coordinating fabrication, checks, and compliance documentation.
Review route analyses and risk assessments, validating permits, equipment readiness, and team coordination before every movement.
Oversee ship execution, monitoring real-time conditions, adjusting plans as needed, and confirming on-time, safe delivery to port.
Partner with design and operations teams to lock requirements, resolve issues, and iterate processes for future Terran R campaigns.
Establish supplier and agency relationships, negotiating terms, clarifying expectations, and sustaining reliable external workflows.
Champion data-driven transport decisions, documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and metrics to refine methods over time.
Enable flexible scheduling and offshore readiness, supporting night, weekend, and extended vessel operations when mission needs require.
Requirements
You must bring 5+ years in heavy haul transport, route planning, or multi-modal logistics focused on oversized cargo.
You must have hands-on project management experience for large-scale moves, not driving, covering field execution and logistics coordination.
You must collaborate effectively in teams, communicating clearly with peers, partners, and regulators under tight operational schedules.
You must handle outdoor and offshore conditions, including extended time on vessels or traveling long distances overland.
You must be willing to work variable hours, including nights and weekends, aligned with launch and transport windows.
Nice to have
Experience in aerospace, launch infrastructure, or regulated transport environments preferred but not required.

About Relativity
At Relativity, we are building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that is just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known. Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you are not just executing tasks; you are solving problems that have not been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you are in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you will collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we are writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it is early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum.
