About the role
You will act as the central Subject Matter Expert for Workday across multiple critical modules including Core HCM, Security, Payroll/Earnings, Time Tracking, and Absence Management. In this position, you will provide production support by researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results, or process flaws that arise during daily operations. You will lead projects from start to finish, gathering requirements and proposing solutions or alternative methods to meet evolving business needs before implementing them in Workday. A key part of this role involves proactively staying current with Workday updates and new features to ensure the organization leverages the latest capabilities effectively. You will analyze the impact of changes on other modules and downstream processes to maintain system integrity. Another core responsibility is to map out and document configurations, system processes, field definitions, and user guides for clarity and future reference. This role requires a strong ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with individuals at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and success.

What you'll do
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert across multiple modules in Workday including, Core HCM, Security, Payroll/Earnings, Time Tracking, and Absence Management.
Provide production support, including researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process flaws.
Lead projects by collecting requirements and proposing solutions or alternative methods to meet business needs then implementing those requirements in Workday.
Proactively staying current with Workday updates and new features, ensuring the organization leverages the latest capabilities.
Understand impact of changes on other modules and downstream processes to prevent unintended consequences.
Map out and document configurations and system processes, field definitions and user guides for internal reference and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration of Workday modules.
Communicate system capabilities and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Troubleshoot complex issues by analyzing data flows, system logs, and business rules within the Workday environment.
Translate business needs into technical requirements and configuration changes within the Workday platform.
Perform quality checks and validations to ensure system configurations meet business and compliance requirements.
Support training initiatives by creating documentation and providing guidance on best practices for Workday usage.
Participate in system design discussions to ensure new implementations align with long-term enterprise architecture goals.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying optimization opportunities within existing Workday configurations.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Workday.
Demonstrate ability to take lead in gathering requirements, analyze business processes, and deliver scalable solutions.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with human resource policies and compliance to ensure adherence to regulations.
Ability to develop skills in end to end automation.
Strong ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with individuals at all levels.
Proficiency in Excel for data analysis.
Nice to have
Workday Pro certified.
Experience other areas of Workday like reporting, complex calculated fields, and talent optimization.
Workday Studio experience preferred.
