Senior Product Manager, Redis Core (Document Database) - Product Management - Spain

About the role

Redis seeks a Senior Product Manager to spearhead the evolution of our document data capabilities, ensuring that JSON-based application data can be managed with exceptional speed and simplicity. You will own the strategic vision and execution roadmap for a product that empowers developers to build modern applications with confidence and efficiency. In this role, you will translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications that drive engineering execution. You will act as the primary liaison between enterprise customer needs and the technical capabilities of our database platform. Ultimately, you will be responsible for delivering features that solidify Redis as the preferred solution for real-time document management at scale.

What you'll do

• Define the product strategy for the document database feature set, aligning technical execution with market demands to ensure we meet the evolving needs of developers.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and drive the prioritization of the product backlog.
• Analyze user behavior and industry trends to uncover insights that inform the product roadmap and validate hypotheses through experimentation.
• Break down complex problems into manageable components, facilitating discussions that lead to elegant and practical solutions.
• Ensure that all stakeholders maintain a clear understanding of the product vision and progress through transparent communication and documentation.
• Evaluate the success of product initiatives by analyzing key metrics and adjusting strategies to maximize impact.
• Champion the needs of both internal and external customers, ensuring their voices are heard throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with engineering leaders to translate high-level product objectives into detailed technical requirements that guide the development lifecycle.
• Leverage your understanding of document data patterns to influence architectural decisions that impact performance and scalability.
• Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gather requirements and align on solutions that deliver tangible value.
• Synthesize feedback from sales and customer support teams to address pain points and enhance the user experience.
• Maintain a deep knowledge of the competitive landscape to identify threats and opportunities for differentiation.
• Utilize data analytics to monitor feature adoption and refine the product based on empirical evidence.
• Ensure that all deliverables adhere to the highest standards of quality and meet the deadlines established in the project plan.
• Mentor junior product managers by sharing best practices and providing guidance on strategic thinking.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software product management or a comparable role within an enterprise environment.
• In-depth understanding of document-oriented data models and application data patterns, particularly those involving JSON and document storage techniques.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating both high-level concepts and intricate technical details, both verbally and in writing.
• Familiarity with coding practices and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on technical designs.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.
• Proven track record of successfully launching products and driving their adoption in the market.
• Nice to have: Experience managing database, infrastructure, or storage products.
• Nice to have: Hands-on experience with well-known document databases such as Couchbase, Firestore, or Aerospike.
• Nice to have: Background in creating APIs, SDKs, or tools aimed at developers.
• Nice to have: Previous exposure to NoSQL or real-time databases, with a preference for candidates who have experience with Redis.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in fast-paced, iterative environments.
• Proficient in product management frameworks and tools that facilitate effective project execution.
• Strong understanding of JSON data handling and the development of document-centric applications.
• Excellent analytical abilities to interpret customer insights and market data effectively, driving informed decision-making.
• Familiarity with user experience principles and the ability to advocate for user-centric design in product development.
