About the role
You will own the technical direction and delivery of digital products within a multidisciplinary agile team at Red Badger. You will partner closely with Delivery Leads and product owners to translate complex business problems into high-quality, working software. You will act as a technology polyglot and agile evangelist, championing modern development practices and continuous improvement. You will balance hands-on code contribution with leadership responsibilities, ensuring your team delivers valuable, reliable solutions to clients. You will mentor engineers, influence technical strategy, and support the growth of your peers within a diverse and collaborative environment. You will help validate ideas and refine solutions to improve process efficiencies and customer outcomes. You will provide line management and coaching to engineers while staying deeply connected to the craft of software development.

What you'll do
Define and own the technical vision and architecture for digital products in partnership with delivery and product stakeholders.
Lead a cross-functional engineering team, applying modern development practices to ship high-quality software frequently and safely.
Compare alternative technical and design approaches, selecting the right tools, languages, and frameworks for each problem.
Adapt to new languages, frameworks, and ways of working while evangelizing agile and lean principles across the team.
Start or continue a line-management journey by coaching, mentoring, and supporting engineers in their career growth.
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and code reviews, pairing with engineers to elevate design and implementation quality.
Support delivery and product functions by advising on technical strategy and implications of product decisions.
Contribute directly to coding, debugging, and hands-on tasks, spending significant time collaborating with engineers on the team.

Run and actively contribute to agile ceremonies, helping to shape and refine the agile process for continuous improvement.
Work closely with project delivery managers and product owners to align technical decisions with client value and business outcomes.
Champion knowledge sharing, peer support, and technical excellence across the multidisciplinary team.
Leverage your experience to solve complex problems and reduce risks in delivery through thoughtful technical leadership.
Promote best practices in quality, testing, and delivery pipelines to ensure sustainable and scalable software development.

Requirements
Bring 8 or more years of professional software development experience, with a strong track record of delivering digital products.
Have proven experience as a technical lead or senior engineer, leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Demonstrate deep expertise in multiple technologies and a genuine ability to adapt to new languages and frameworks quickly.
Show a strong commitment to agile ways of working, including facilitating ceremonies and driving process improvement.
Possess excellent communication skills, able to consult effectively with technology stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to navigate complex business and technical challenges while maintaining focus on customer value.
Have experience with line management or mentoring engineers, supporting their development and performance within a growing team.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with diverse teams spanning multiple nationalities and languages.
Nice to have
Preferred experience in consulting or large enterprise environments where complex problems and high-quality delivery are essential.
Background in Lean and Agile methodologies, with a history of contributing to process evolution.
Experience supporting digital products post-launch, including technical support and continuous improvement.
